Have you bent 4" 90s with the blanket?
@Up-CountryElectric19 күн бұрын
No. It's just for doing offsets that aren't 11.5, 22, 45 or 90 degrees. For those we use factory made fittings.

Just got a couple of these meters today. This gave me a little insight on how to use it for the plc's on our machines. Thanks
@Up-CountryElectric19 күн бұрын
They're great, only thing they can't do is generate 0-10vdc. Which is something I'm finding I may need more in the future. 95% of our analog signals are 4-20.

@@Up-CountryElectric Being I paid $5 total for two 789's in mint condition and an 83v at an estate sale that the lady didn't even know what they were. I can't complain. 😁

Nice! Under what Mohms is it safe to say that the motor is bad?
@Up-CountryElectric2 ай бұрын
Industry standards vary but below 50k ohms and you're likely to have a shorted motor soon. Ideally we track the resistance over time from the initial install. That way we can possibly predict and prepare for the failure. If I see below 1megohm I think it's suspicious.

Which is quicker for 2.5 inch bending (not in a trench), the blanket or the machine?
@Up-CountryElectric2 ай бұрын
Our hot box only goes up to 2", so I'd have to use the blanket
@bourbonstreetla2 ай бұрын
@@Up-CountryElectric Thanks for the answer. If you had to bend a dozen or more pieces of 2 inch in to a 90 degree bend would it go faster and easier with the box or the blanket? I am trying to decide to buy a box or blanket for doing a lot of repeat bends at the shop to send out to the job.
@Up-CountryElectric2 ай бұрын
@@bourbonstreetla why can't you use factory made 90 fittings from a supplier? You'll have a hard time making 90s with pipe over 1.5" with heat as it will collapse. We use heat for minor offsets up up to 60 deg tops.

@@Up-CountryElectric They are on backorder here and expected to be for a while due to the hurricanes. I have enough to last another two weeks but then I will be in a bind.
@Up-CountryElectric2 ай бұрын
Dang, well in a pinch like that I'd plug the ends to help them not collapse. I heard about old timers who would actually put a few psi into the pipe while heating and bending using some kind of rig. I think that's how the factory does it, but I'm not sure haven't seen it. Good luck! Figuring stuff out and making it work in any situation is the Hallmark of our trade 😅

Bro is showing off the tool yet doesn't properly use it SMH. If you want accurate holes you need to lay out a cross through the center of the hole (larger than the knockout die). The flat die needs to be on your lay-out side. It has little notches/marks that will line up with a cross through your center hole. Align at least 3 marks and your knockouts will be bang on every time. Using the "eyeball" method shown gets you kinda close, but any tradesman worth their salt will see the hack job from a mile away.
