I'm 55 years old. I have been divorced for over 32 years, I have dated, had feelings for them had my heart broken and me broke theirs. Those men and me weren't met to be. Those on line men and women are for Mr. And misses right now. If you're single for the rest of your life that's ok, just because your friends look happy doesn't mean they are. You can travel, buy anything you want, be at peace read a good book and if and when the time is right you will meet the girl of your dreams and her you. You got this you're 34.

She was already a cheat. Her first man was her job. She just saw OP as a emotional teddy bear to come home to. That's why in her head she was fine with sleeping her way up because that career was the husband. A 30 something single cat lady that will be in a situationship for all time.

obviously the ChatGPT speak comes out in how the names keeps being inconsistent but another thing that feels like something only ChatGPT would do is how, when for example "OP" and "sister" was sitting down in the cafe, the way the story points out all the details that was inbetween what they said, like the "she abruptly stoop up, chair scraping against the floor".. I feel like a real person wouldn't bother to include details like this tbh, it'd be more like "she jumped up and yelled at me" or something, I dunno

I actually agree with joe in this instance. The wife didn’t make a mistake, she actively lied to everyone for years, forcing joe to go through uni for years. That’s a load of stress Al for the sake of a stable job that he didn’t even get in the end, uprooting his entire future. Then, when joe have his mum one more chance to mend their relationship, she told him that he’d thank her for the bad thing she did. How is op on his wife’s side? He really needs to grow a pair and tell his wife how she messed up.
@DiZoSoMom3 ай бұрын
Throw the whole damn family away. They’re all terrible. OP less so than anyone else (get deeper in the story… he acts a bit asshole-ish IMO too with the way he babies his wife, supports her being horrible to her son in the phone call, then going to her ex-husbands house and telling the kid he doesn’t like him and escalating the situation, but mostly for his defending of his wife lying and meddling in her ADULT son’s life and choices by promising him things he can’t have and lying). Personally I think OPs wife is the biggest asshole in the whole family. Her son was an adult. It’s pretty clear she had voiced her opinion about his lack of talent and wanting him to attend college, so she needed to back off and let him make his decision. The fact she manipulated him with lies into (a) abandoning his dream, (b) attending college when he didn’t want to and wasn’t ready, and (c) choose a path and degree that he would not have otherwise chosen. His entire life is on a different course now and she is doubling down and saying “I would do it all over again!” Jesus Christ. This guy will never forgive her and I don’t blame him. You just don’t get over something that huge and life-altering overnight.

Everyone is awful, INCLUDING OP. How can he continue to support her when she made it crystal clear she doesn't regret her actions, that she still believes she did the right thing? She is just as delusional as her ex. Joe I'll give the benefit of the doubt. He's still an AH, but I'm willing to chalk it up at least partially to desperation and probably his father playing into that. In the end, he was manipulated into giving up on his dream for a degree he didn't want, in a field he has no interest in, for a job he was never going to get. It's still no excuse for doubling down and insisting his mom make OP give him his business, but it's an explanation. It sounds to me like the mom was more to blame for her divorce than OP wants to admit...

I'm glad OP dodged a bazooka of insecurity, jealousy, gaslighting, and toxicity. Hopefully, OP's love life is better now. As for the woman, she needs counseling and therapy sessions to work on her own well-being, mentally and emotionally.
