I'll never buy Toyota. However, I've been advocating hydrogen for a long time. The problem is, and will continue to be, that there is no infrastructure for hydrogen. I worked in a place where they had all hydrogen powered warehouse vehicles, and I thought that was awesome once I did some research on hydrogen.

Let's pair the Terriers with a hybrid powertrain of Lithium-sulfur batteries charged by a lightweight gaseous hydrogen burning Omega One engine to power 25-100 person regional aircraft. That kind of powertrain could give you 1000+ miles of range in a quiet, nearly zero emission aircraft with quick charge turnaround. Use the full hybrid powertrain for takeoff and landing and simple battery electric for cruise. Big question is whether or not it can be mass produced at a reasonable cost.

I believe that the ranchero should be a 2 door cab and a half that looks more like a car then a pick up truck and should remain a long cargo bed like the original so that you enhance the utilisation of the cargo area and have a sports addition with V8

Oh, but wait... then you'd be enslaving an animal and contributing to carbon emissions because farts. Maybe we should just walk, and devolve back into chimpanzees. Oh, but wait... then you'd have males with harems. So the solution is death if you're a white male, and everyone should walk and eat roots and bugs. Genius.

Nuclear energy is great, but nobody talks about it. Small modular Reactors are great but nobody talks about it. Thorium already operational, but nobody talks about it. Hydrogine, nobody talks about it. A yearly adding trilions of trees, nobody is talks about it. Politicians don't want permanent solutions, they're jobs are at stake! And it depends how much public money it can generate, which is not too much on "water"!

Love this technology.....once you have the hydrogen....but where do you get the hydrogen? Hydrogen is very energy intensive to produce. We need a process to produce hydrogen efficiently before this technology can have a chance of success. I'm optimistic. :)

Many of these ideas involve converting fuels and the concomitant losses involved. I can see this working using modular nuclear reactors supplying energy to electrolysis plants only at night when demand for electricity is low. It will require a turnaround in the popular attitude toward nuclear power, as well as a massive infrastructure change to supply fuel. It could work if it's both clean and economical, but I wonder if just giving homeowners a big cut in the cost of electricity at night to charge electric vehicles would work much better, by cutting out the losses in the conversion process and making infrastructure changes less costly.

If Toyota & car markers alike are serious about Hydrogen they need to also contribute & potentially manufacture to almost off the shelf & scalable infrastructure solution.

Just like EV's they will take time to scale and they will be more expensive. As technology and manufacturing processes are refined and they get a market for them, the price will start to come down. But I don't see this a solution that will replace EV's but rather complement them. Everyone knows that EV's don't meet all the requirements of a transport industry, so this could be their niche in the market. Don't discount EV's just yet, range will improve, charging times will come down and weight will come down. Also, there are other materials being tested and developed that will be far more environmentally friendly. I believe one day we will have EV batteries that will have a longer range than a standard ICE vehicle and charge times less than it takes to fill a tank.

I'd like my Ranchero with 2 doors, gas in front, electric in back, a solar bed cover and all the autonomous driving and creature comforts please. Others might like it simpler, and it's good to have options but as I get older, creature comforts get more desirable. I just want a little truck with 2 doors that will fit into my garage that is fun to drive and gets great has mileage. Thanks!

Toyota already produces EVs. And about N2O - it's unstable in normal conditions gas that reacts with oxygen super fast forming NO2 - toxic red gas, that has been used as a chemical weapon in the past (to the best of my recollections). I had no idea that burning H2 fuel could end up deadly. Thank you for telling me. Please don't take me wrong. Toyota has always been a high achiever outperforming numerous companies. Most EV companies were launching one car at a time, trying to figure out which one the market would welcome - Toyota launched 5 at the same time. So, c'mon - NO2? You're not serious.

I've literally been to so many dealers in the last 2 days where they are trying to rob me on a prius. And low ball me on my Lexus trade that I'm literally willing to just go directly to the website and order. Especially because the down payment and monthly would be way more reasonable for a priest than what these people are expecting me to pay.
