I bought a 11 ex a little over a year ago. Haven’t had an issue motor/transmission other than the thermostat wanting to stay open. The motor mounts on the 8th gen suck so i upgraded to the hasport mounts and love them. Full suspension rebuild is next. Headed to the track next year 🫡

Would you say your Honda civic or the hyundai elantra is more better long term and is a great first car?
@G-Drives21 күн бұрын
Definitely go with the Honda civic, if you’re looking at the specific years I reviewed. The 2014 Elantra has a slight issue with oil leaking which can be devastating to the engine. The civic is so low maintenance!

Is it worth it to buy this beast in 2024? Looks kinda sick tho fr
@JulianEspitia-f7k29 күн бұрын
I would say it’s worth it. I have one. It’s very reliable and could last long if you keep it maintained. The bad thing is, Hyundai and Kia’s get stolen easily since people on TikTok posted before how to steal them and all. So, if you were to get a Hyundai, you would need to be prepared for that situation
@ttc_flaw796418 күн бұрын
@user-no5zz9fz4q that only applies in US Hyundais, In Canada the Hyundais here were since 2007 required to have immobilizers installed. This completey prevents any type of attempt of stealing a canadian Hyundai. Plus the type of car theft here is more on more luxury cars anyway.

Hey, this might be a long shot, but the bluetooth on the car should be able to display the track name. Just click in the center button of the stereo (I think it says select). At least that works in Hondas of that same era with the same sound system.

13:18 I drive the 2003 EL and it does have an a-spec! Back in the day, it was called the "Aero Package" (which for some reason wasn't available in 2004 or 2005 EL's) but it came with a front lip, side skirts, and a back lip, as well as a spoiler in the back. It doesn't seem like a lot but trust me it makes a WORLD of a difference in how great this car looks!
@G-DrivesАй бұрын
I believe it!! Do you know much extra that would have been back in the day to get the aero package?
@arslan9665Ай бұрын
@@G-Drives I believe around $26,300 CAD in 2003 money with the aero package, and around 25000 without it. My guess is around $1300 for the aero package? Honestly was a little overpriced for what it was. Thats why I see Acura’s as a better buy in the used market lol

Could you comment on the comfort of the seats and headrest? I read online reviews that they are the weskest point of the car with poor lumbar support?
@G-Drives2 ай бұрын
Hey! The seats are pretty wide, that’s probably due to accommodate a variety of body types. For day to day it’s not too bad but definitely missing lumbar support as you can’t manipulate it to suit your needs. I see a lot of people purchasing after market lumbar support for Civics. I found on drives over 5 hours, you feel exhaustion in your body due to the seat but no issues day to day :)

I have EU version 9th gen Civic Tourer 1.8iVtec (Station Wagon) just bought it with less then 60k miles on a clock. Had overengineered VW which costs fortune to repeir if something brakes(flywheel). What's remarkable about this model it has bigger boot then most of European premium cars and ofcourse bulletproof engine and less electronics. The car looks almost brand new from underneath and overall. Now for the next 5years + only money that is going to into the car is going to be for petrol and oil changes.😂😂 Buying low mileage 10-15 years old Honda or Toyota is the best decision you can make believe me. I know this as we have Toyota in our garage for the past 13 years and car keeps going and going. No issues at all with NA engines with these 2 brands. Rest is just junk especially most cars made after 2017....

Yo G, I enjoy watching ur POV videos on Acura EL. I have 99 EL and like it very much. I have one question for you.. I noticed on ur video where that bus cut you off and almost hit you 🤬 that the roads were rough and it sounded like ur EL suspension didn't absorb the bumps well. Do you find ur EL feels every bump in the roads? My EL is lowered so the ride is rough and can feel lot of the road imperfections and I was curious if you experience the same?
@G-Drives6 ай бұрын
Hi Maji! Thank you so much for the kind words!! I feel like the car did a good job absorbing bumps and all. I find the mic on the GoPro picks up the bump noise and makes it sound more harsh then I feel in real life. Also, your 99 EL is one of my dream cars!! I honestly love the look of it and the ability to mod seems endless! How do you like yours?

@@G-Drives Right now on the list is a custom front and rear bumper it'll be a facelift to make it look similar to the 10th gens. I will also be swapping the automatic shift knob with a adapter to allow it to look similar to a manual (little theft proof). I recently swapped the old head unit for the radio for a android head unit, however its causing my speakers to sound altered when high bass occurs so I ordered a new one. I'm also planning on getting new head and taillights. I also want to add bags and possibly a turbo, if not an entire engine swap to a si engine.
