@@EdExplore thank you tons for the reply.. now I KNOW I gotta be more of a man about these wheelies. I've been sitting is prob my prob. Dabbing some rear brake before my wheelie pop, too. Instead of front is key, also.

Good Question! During the wheelie I use the steering input the 1) keep the balance and 2) steer the bike in the direction I want it to go and it works exceptionally well, while the front wheel is still spinning, but your question: Preferably it should be straight for best case scenario, but if you land with the wheel even slightly turned you wouldn't necessarily crash, but it will definitely unsettle the bike alot and in severe cases cause a death wobble and if you don't react properly you can go down. Remember the tire wouldn't be able to turn effectively once it hits the ground and while bounce and whip with in a few milliseconds until it's straighten out.
