We’ve been married 17 months so definitely getting my spice on lol. But where I’m from in New York there is actually a big Sri Lankan population with a bunch of good restaurants so I’ve been eating super spicy rice and curry for years now. Especially from one place. Nothing is mild lol.

I will give you a small tip as a local.Mainly we put the main dish near to the person.In here, you have string hoppers but it is placing oppsite side of you(on plate) which makes difficult to eat.Other dishes like curries and sambols can be side with the main dish(rice,hoppers,string hoppers etc.)

Most probably because in many households we don't have a divider in-between the shower and the toilet. And didn't I mention it has never been a problem for me.
