This is all CGI or some kind of rep;ica. There is no water at Khara Khoto or anywhere nearby. It's walls are partially covered in sand.

Khara Khoto in real means the sacred city of the Ok's!( Ok clan is one of the ancient turks). Supposedly, that city was built before early dryes era. 😊

Thanks for providing the info, Choy. I do not have the expertise to tell whether it is a replica or not. And I would love to know the real site, if you may provide some source of your claim. Best - Tao

@@TaoDongStudio The site in the video is at 41.840514, 101.007411. The real Khara-Khoto is at 41.764342, 101.142930. These are Google Map coordinates.

@@choykaiwen3731 Thanks again. I reckon if there are archaeological evidences, if you happen to come across, that can justify the claim saying the site is a replica, would be more convincing. Best - T

It has to be a replica the original site is not located near a river, also does this one look restored the original one isn’t.

Khara Khoto is indeed about 10 kilometers away, I have just been there today. Unfortunately closed since July 2023 but you can approach it by 500 meters about.

Wow, they have destroyed the site..... That is a crime agains humanity :(
@xrc5540 Жыл бұрын
Not it is not. By revitalising the site the chance to prolong its preservation is guaranteed. The Coliseum and Pantheon in Rome are similarly preserved. Tourists flock to see them and there are plans to build a stage in the Coliseum. Obviously this is not a crime against humanity.

@@xrc5540 that is not true.... One thing is conservation and another thing building a newb thing on top of it
@xrc5540 Жыл бұрын
@@diegolm1 if what is built is sensitively designed and respects the historical context, then it is acceptable to society. Europe is full of such examples where extreme modernism coexist with medieval buildings. I would imagine the sam e thinking of history and culture would have gone into Khara Khoto no less. These are real crimes: the removal of the marble sculptures from the Parthenon: named Elgin Marbles, the hacking away of 1000 yr old Buddhist wall paintings in Mogao caves in Dunhuang- now in a German museum. More recently the theft of a Buddhist sculpture (600 yr old) with a real dead monk inside from a temple in South China by a Westerner. Truth be told, European and American museums are full of relics from crimes against humanity, to use your imagination.

@@xrc5540 Thanks for providing your argument, XRC. Even though I don't have the expertise to tell the whole story and the truth, I do agree with you on the point that, if the historical context has been taken into serious considerations during revitalisation, the newly built element can be "sensitively designed and respects the historical context", which may be able "to prolong its preservation". Also, I really appreciate that you have provided some examples from other places around the globe to support your argument. I reckon this is a more rational reasoning than just plain accusation without any reliable evidence.

Is this a replica or did they restore the original site? I hope it's just a replica instead of making the original ruin a tourist trap.
@TaoDongStudio2 жыл бұрын
I reckon it is the original site. And yeah, it is not good for preserving the ruin with visitors coming around. Yet, general public get a chance to see and feel the epic history of a long-gone dynasty. So there are pros and cons.
