In a crucial period of cold war, Ronald Reagan and Oliver North took part in highly illegal acts to fight against Russian influence over the USA in both military and cultural terms. Despite Regan's war on drugs, he was ambivalent to the drugs the Contras were smuggling into the USA and continued to fund them in secret. Some people will find his actions justified in order to protect the USA from a greater threat, but others will no doubt see the hypocrisy, and instead chalk his actions up to immorality. This video definitely is not in favor of Oliver North & Rean. The topic (and Reagan as a whole) however, is nuanced.

Everyone saying “Bartlet knows he’s wrong and that’s why he’s mad” is missing the underlying point of this scene that’s revealed with the line “and the walls came tumbling down”. Was it unethical? Probably. Illegal? Maybe. But guess what? Everyone woke up alive the next morning because everyone did their job in good faith with what was best for the nation in the front of their minds. Toby is such a raging idealist that he can’t wrap his head around the fact that sometimes reality requires you bend the rules to do the most good

I just think It's funny how those adult shows that supposedly make fun of politics, society and the "establishment" are so clearly inclined to one side to sometimes ridiculous extent. Like, I enjoy it and find it funny, but you undeniably never see them going as harsh against Obama or other democrats, and that sort of takes away from the satirical element
