Hello! I am going to Lisbon & Porto in exactly 3 months, solo. You’re making me want to change my accommodations…I really just want a different experience. I’ve traveled to half of the U.S. solo, but this is my first time traveling abroad solo. How was it being is a hostel as a person of color? That’s what I’m most worried about, to be honest. Please let me know

@ that’s true, but there’s beautiful places in Brazil that are more safe like Vila Velha that have beautiful beaches and Minas Gerais that have gorgeous waterfalls (I know this because I used to live in Brazil). If you don’t go near favelas, and be careful when you’re around big cities full of people and walking walking alone at night, you should be safe. I was never assaulted in Brazil, but there are several news saying that Brazil is dangerous but it really depends who you hang out with and where you live. I’m glad you’re safe. Take care💕☺️

We stayed there last September. Absolutely loved it, and watching this makes me want to go back as soon as possible.. I love your LOCS and this 10 year tribute to them. I felt many of the same emotions . I enjoyed most of my phases except this current one and it's basically my fault. My hair was growing beautifully patterned and so easily. Even with the blond coloring it was beautiful. Unfortunately a cocktail of too much professional grade bleaching, new high blood meds , and stress started causing extreme breakage. I kept saying I'm going to chop it off & start over but my husband and Loctician told me it would be okay to trust the process. We trimmed all the damaged locs and changed meds which is still a battle, and my locs are rebounding. I believe we're starting the teen years over and I actually love them. Can't wait to get your length. And I think I'm going to go a little darker to add some variation but I love my GOLD SISTER Locs

Subscribed!! Thank you for mentioning no seaweed on the beach, that's a major deciding factor for me when traveling. And also mentioning how it wasn't crowded and finding a beach chair wasn't an issue. Not related to this video, but I love your sister locks. I've had mine going on 5 years, can you share more about your experience with coloring your locs or perhaps do a video about it? It looks like you've had color in your hair for awhile and your hair looks extremely healthy, would love to hear more about how you maintain the health of your locs while coloring them. Looking forward to more of your videos! 😊

Her locs are so beautiful!! The thickness of her hair is crazy gorgeous!!! Tell me how you if you use a silk scarve only to wrap your hair, or do you use both a silk wrap and pillow case, I have to know! I know you said previously that you've always had thick hair, but your diet also contributes? I love my locss, but I want my hair to thicken up. Lately, love been using g only castor and vitamin E. Also, does your hair every Webb? If there's any grammatical errors, please excuse them. It's New Years Eve, and I'm multi-tasking

Thank you Cheryl!! I use a silk bonnet on my hair at night, with just regular cotton pillowcases. I don't wrap my hair or anything 😄 My diet is a work-in-progress lol, nothing exceptional and I don't take any vitamins (but my locticians swears by them for hair growth and thickness). Jamaican castor oil is definitely good for hair growth and thickness, so you're doing it right. Do you moisturize daily? For me, that is the biggest tool for growing strong thick locs.

Latoya this is such a special video, thank you for sharing! I’ve been through this type of husband in the past and I too had a young daughter at the time, so I really relate. My understanding now is that forgiveness/healing is a long process…different ages open different stages. I moved locations to help heal myself & island life suits us best. I’ve also learned through the process that this life experience is all about allowing things to unfold and responding to things the best way we know how to at that moment. My empowerment came once I realized that, yes, even though he hurt us, my lesson wasn’t in the pain, my lesson was in the survival and personal power of my actions through to the other side of the pain. The journey gets better as we heal it and grasp a deeper meaning of why we’re actually doing what we do here on planet earth. Congrats on your healing journey for the two of you!❤
