Cool segment. My dad worked at Kaman in the 60's-70's and bought several Ovation guitars. My sister has 1 of 4 shallow back prototypes guitars they made. I have a couple of Balladeers, but they both need work. We both learned to play on Ovations!

i had a custom 24 a while back but i didn't like the rotary dial pup selector. not a big deal ... could have changed it to something else but i got rid of it. fast forward 2 decades ... just picked up an se prs (santana) with 22 frets. damn. i can't put her down. black ... damn. pups are the best ... love the trem. everything ... perfect amalgamation between my strats and lpz. and sweet ... nice stuff. good on ya all.

i really like it, even though it is only an se. mine is from korea. i spent my last 3 1/2 years in the air force over in korea (osan, ab). anyway, i trust the koreans ... just under the japanese who are always the best. i want to MOD my new prs ... what are your suggestions? i think it is great already, foundationally but i'm thinking about locking tuners and kill switches. maybe change in pups .... hmm, fishman fluence? i really love my trem, but it is a little stiff. would like to loossn it up, without screwing with the intonation. i'm sure my luthier will figure it out. i keep him busy. ;)

Nice job, Jimi...cool show! My bands were from Upstate NY but played many of the venues mentioned ... including "The BACH D'OR" on the Mondays (... 50 sailors from the sub base and one woman...they all seemed to know!) after our, every 6 weeks, Wed-Sun gigs at SHAKER PARK, in Enfield CT.

Very cool to get on board with the first episode. It is so weird to watch a lefty guitar player and you would expect it to seem like watching yourself in the mirror. Maybe it is, I never tried. I for the most part was only exposed to right handed players. So my brain can flip what I am watching no problem. I am left handed and just didn't know there were guitars for lefties, nor did I know left handed drumming was a thing until it was too late. After playing right handed, I would freak out to go to lefty instruments. My coordination in my right hand for fingering is awful compared to my left. I attempt 8 finger fretting, but my left hand is doing most of the work and my right hand, try as I might, is so slow to become coordinated. Drums are my primary instrument, and get more of my attention, but I have been at this guitar thing longer than drumming.

I enjoyed listening to Pete Salant. I was involved with automating MOYL for WAVZ which was the first automated station for the format. I spent a couple of days with Al Ham to work out the details of how to set it up for automation. I was with Harris at the time and sold them the automation as well - legendary engineer Tom Osenkowsky was there at the time.

One minor "faux pas" in my comments. "More than just the headlines" pkg was created by the late Otis Connor's Axcess Productions for WCBS-AM. Steve Karmen produced WCBS-AM's "News Is..." package. Steve also created the "I Love New York" campaign in addition to other well known themes like "When you say Bud..."

Urime!
