We've sailed now half a dozen times on MSC, and we're thrilled to know that what we experienced is now different. When this video was made - and when we sailed MSC - we were not told in advance that our unlimited dining package was limited to certain menu items. Nor were we told until we were at the restaurant that there would be an additional charge for the hibachi dining. All good - we enjoyed every meal, and we were glad for the experience, but we would have liked more information ahead of time.

No excuse not to try NCL now - right down the street!

It's actually smaller than Icon, but it does offer a lot of the same features and amenities. So, yeah, same shi*, different ship ;-)

Now that’s a horse of a different color - but a lot of this still applies. The captain will alter course and steer the ship to safety. Now those rogue waves - ugh! Totally new ballgame!

I know there are cultures - such as Mexican and Filipino - that eat hot dogs for breakfast. However, the reaction to this dish was the fact that we ordered plain old breakfast sausage, and in the absence of sausage, they tired to pass off hot dogs in a truly nasty sauce as "sausage." Also, it's my opinion, so I don't necessarily have to be polite. I want to make sure that people who are here to get advice, information, and planning tips to help them prepare for an upcoming cruise get the information they need, not the information you get from other vloggers who are paid to make certain their opinions are all polite and spit polished to be favorable.

I am in the cabana - very little shade! There are a few trees and the eating area is shady, but there’s not a ton.

You may be right - it's not really fair of me to speculate, but there does seem to be some indication that substance played a part here. And while I don't necessarily think it's obvious that no one just "falls overboard" - the ships are designed to sort of prevent and prohibit that from occurring. I do think there are accidents - even if they are caused by stupidity, like trying to get a selfie or trying to go from one balcony cabin to the next without the benefit of a door. In any case, these stories seem to be coming out in almost rapid fire succession anymore. It's kinda sad.

Although the food and drink festival is July this year, it’s always included in the price of your cruise! The specialty cocktails are extra, but all of the special food offerings are part of your cruise price!

That's gonna save a ton of money!

As of our most recent sailing, this is still the case. I've been told by crew members that if you don't like your entree and send it back, they can offer a replacement at no additional charge.

The fish wasn't identified on the menu, but it was a lightly flavored white fish - it was quite good.

Friend, if your experience was different than the ones we've had, be constructive and let people know. You can't categorize our experience as lies since you weren't there to experience it with us. But feel free to share your personal experience - and I'm hoping it was everything you expected.

I don't think they give preferential treatment to people with packages - I really believe we all start out on a level playing field. Keep checking your MSC app - I've heard that some people have been able to book dining reservations in advance, so your mileage may vary! Thanks for the question!

We didn’t find the food to be bad. The main dining room food was about what we’ve experienced on Royal Caribbean. There are some exceptional items, some are just okay. As for drinks, I’m not a drinker, but we felt they were pretty generous with the pours!

I think MSC has some beautiful ships. I prefer Royal for sure, but if you can do Yacht Club on MSC, it’s well worth the splurge!

The sofa bed opens up to a full size bed - not a queen size!

I don't think you're wrong - and it's pretty devastating what happened to these people. But if they could have come up with literally $100 more, they could have had the travel insurance that would have gotten them back all of their money :-( It's so sad for them, and I hope they were finally able to go somewhere to celebrate.

It was a nice mix of music. The morning music was a bit more subdued, which was really nice, as you're just waking up, and then it got more "party" in the afternoon - dance music, club music, pop hits - it was a good blend.

It really was - I would do that again - no brainer!

I loved the flaky crust, but the rest of it fell flat for me.

Yes we had the all you can eat specialty dining. If we are in Yacht Club we tend to eat all meals there.

We did indeed pay for the seafood tower - but it was part of the Chef’s Table at Butcher’s Cut. It was delicious and the meal was well worth the price.

YES! The Royal Gathering is free, but you do need a reservation. If you can’t snag one ahead of time, as soon as you bird the ship, try again. Some always open up, but you want to be fast!
