I always choose and root for toad

I always liked the fact that even if you lose all of your balloons and turn into the Wedding Singer (yellow bomb) you still get a shot at revenge and blow up the guy who took you out. I just wished they had more battle arenas instead of only 4.

Man, I really miss the simplicity of these old games. Call it nostalgia, or whatever you like, but there is a certain charme to old N64 games. I like how simple games were back in the days and most N64 games have this weird, dreamy atmopshere. There is almost something eerie about looking over the edge of Big Donut in MK64, or looking at the edge of the map in OoT, knowing that there is nothing behind that line of pixelated trees. Games were basic, back in the days. And I'm not trying to talk down on modern Nintendo. Far from it actually. They're the only video game company I still like and care for and their games are still of high quality. It's just that they're getting too big for my taste. Take BotW for example! I only enjoyed the first ten hours of the game, when everything was still fresh and new. But once I realised that what I did the first ten hours, is also the exact same sh*t I'll be doing for the rest of the game, I gradually lost interest. I tried getting into Smash Ultimate, but I just can't be bothered finding the right character out of 89 (!!) possible options. I played an completed SMO and it felt like a chore mostly. I guess younger players will have a hard time relating to that, and I can totally understand why. Back in the days, a roster as big as the one in Ultimat would have blown me away, but as I grew older, I started appreciating more and more how compact old games were.
