Hey Denise, I'm a chiropractic intern and honestly this condition you are describing sounds more neurologically based. Possibly some sort of neuropathy in the foot. If you are diabetic I would bring this to the attention of your doctor right away. If you're not diabetic it may be due to B12 deficiency.

Hi Jenny, thank you for your very clear explanation how to apply Turf toe taping. I have a quick question - if pt has such high mobility of 1st MPJ, any long-term solution for her, for instant orthortic? We have Morton Extension to completely block ROM of 1st MPJ. Do we have any modification to limited the ROM of 1st MPJ? Many thanks

Hi there, where did you find small sheets of adhesive backed felt in 1/8"? All I'm finding online is huge rolls of the stuff. Any links appreciated!

Thank you, excellent video,I wasn't aware of the forefoot width technique, obvious now, but most simple remedies are missed. On a pedantic note, 'foot orthoses' or just 'orthoses' is the noun whereas 'orthotic' is the adjective as in 'orthotic device', 'orthotic technician', etc.

I've had my air cast for nearly a week and I'm finding my broken ankle is really sore with it on. Would wrapping it before putting on the boot help? I've loosened it but it seems like something is pressing on it. I wear a full length tube sock inside it. Would knee highs work better?

Just tried this today before running 12 miles, and it worked! I used 0 stretch with the long strips and 25% stretch on the short, from the inner edge of my arch to just under my inner ankle bone (~2" of stretch); the remainder of the short strips had 0 stretch. Disclaimer: I'm not a medical professional; just a 50+ yr old runner training for a marathon.

Well thanks for the information. My mid soles are completely exposed in places and the heel counters for both are completely out of balance. I thought my leg pain was simply from my high mileage. Glad I found your video!

I hit my pinky toe and it swelled a little. It hurt for a day and it doesn't hurt now. However, the pinky toe is lifted up a bit. it doesn't touch the ground when I walk. why is that? because it's a little swollen?

can´t believe it. These shoes are magical. I straighten up, all back pain goes away etc. All these specialists talking there´s no real improvement. That- and the not very good looks (hey, come up with some more types) make those shoes disappear from the market. If I could I would only wear these. But there´s no shop close by where I could try them on and buy...

Glad you mentioned not using the width guide on the brannock. All my life I assumed I was a standard D. D seems to fit fine. My foot is 4 1/4" which all the charts i find online call that a D. But on a brannock i'm dead in the middle of B/C. That would be a 1/2" smaller from those same charts. But you didn't provide detail on how you do determine shoe width.??

Go into your local shoe shore/retail shoe department and ask them if they have a Brannock Device. Chances are, no one will be able to give you the right answer. And then there's the correct use of the device - which is even funnier. One would think that the most basic criteria for working in such a place would be to be familiar with the proper use of one; however, it seems that most employees prefer to keep going back and forth, bringing out box, after box, after box, hoping the customer will eventually find the right size.
