Ive got 2 pair of the original Si's from the late 90's and there both still working perfectly well . I even stick them on the old 156 Rippey from time to time

Do the ratchet straps on the boots do anything? Cause I just bought a pair but only one boot has the strap xD

Can you write a short review on the Step-on system compared to the old Step-in? is the difference really that big?

My switch boots and bindings are 14 years old, still work fine, but Im afraid that they will snap off in the mountain and break my neck :( How do these compare to them??

Where you bought this Burton Step on bindings? I wanna one so bad! I couldn't find at US anywhere. If you know give me a link or brand name. I'll very appreciate :)

Jason Zhang They were discontinued a long time ago. From what I understand, Burton will release a new system in 2018.

Hi. The problem you cant buy these today. Burton stopped making this Step In binding back in 2003. But they will release a new binding in 2017/18 called Step on, cant wait to try them. Finally I can upgrade from my very old Cascade and step in :-) Before the Cascade I used to ride a Craig Kelly Mystery Air, I really should upgrade more often ;-)

Philip Xander Santos I've been riding my Burton SI bindings since 1999 and never once have they came loose. I don't understand why they stopped making them. There's a bit more slop than a traditional binding, but it has never been an issue for me.

It's a more aggressive stance, usually people only ride it on those long racing alpine boards. No good for any switch riding.

I bought my first set of brand new Burton snowboard back in 1998, using their step-in bindings system. There were people complained about all brands of SIS just don't offer as good of control as traditional strap system. But for a non-pro snowboard enthusiast like me, they worked just fine for me going down double diamond slopes, moguls, and small jumps (not good enough to test out big jumps). And there is just no comparison in convenience factor (I am not a big fan of Flow system). In April, 2016, a guy working at Mammoth mountain told me he saw people testing out new proto-type SIS on the mountain. I am hoping it's a sign of the return of SIS in the near future. I can't wait b/c my old boots and binding are starting to fall apart. I will have to move on to something else if either one of them become completely un-usable. And yes, I am also in my early 40's. It seems only old geezers like us who has been around long enough would complain about not having SIS available in the market any more... :)

Hi johan. thanks for video. I am a young oldie as well. Learned to board 2 decades ago... gosh time does fly...with step ins. I picked up boarding again last year. I just could not get used to these new style bindings. Ma,n did I curse those.... I know I wanted step ins again but not which ones. I found a second hand pair that you show but did not know what to think of them. Your vid made me buy them. I am really curious how they feel in action.

Well, I have the same binding and I think it is very sad the Burton do not produce that. I'm almost 50 so the same talking group. I started at 1982 on my own build board (copy Sims). Still riding still pure still keen. Czech rep.

Let me guess. You're about mid 40's and started riding back in the 90's like me ;) Im still rocking my Original Sin s-i-s bindings and boots to this day. This company isnt even around any more but I bought an extra pair of bindings a few years ago just in case. Although ive NEVER had a problem with them. The heal of my boots are worn down a bit, that's the only concern. But it's so great to push off like a skateboard and step in on the move and when the trail gets flat, lift the lever and pop right out. Ive used them in PA, VT and CO from corduroy to powder to ice on cruisers and in the park. They work awesome everywhere.

Burton has a new style SI (they call it Step ON now) coming out fall 2017. I am chomping at the bit for this since my left binding locker let go a couple weeks ago. Seems like it's engaged until major strain gets put on it, then it pops out. (1st time I held it and was able to ride, 2nd time was carving and face planted) Been riding them since '97/'98, so I think I got my money out of them. Problem is I'm too fat to properly bend and strap in normal bindings.

Tikot check eBay. These haven't been made since 2004. I have some and have been riding them since 1999 with no issues at all. Also, Burton recently announced that they will be releasing their "step on" binding in 2017.

I have these bindings and the Ruler boots and they truly rock, never came loose once. Only issue i have had is breaking them once about 9 years ago. They were better than most people gave them credit for, with critics who NEVER actually wore them.
