Major concern for me towards the preview section. As you've said - the spacing problem is something we can't fix, and also, it seems that Draft2Digital doesn't even respect page breaks. It's really bad... And stopping me from publishing through this platform...

I'm trying to publish an ebook on IngramSpark and the online set-up form asks for the page count. It's a reflowable epub file, how do I know how many pages?

never mind, I found this info in the instructions: "EBOOK PAGE COUNT If you have a print edition, enter that number. For ebook titles only, you can base the page count on (1250 words = a page)."

Hi Lucas, yes it can take a few days for a book to be published to a particular platform. If it goes beyond two weeks, I would contact support.

You can publish on any platform you like to sell a book - the order typically doesn't matter. I'm not sure how offering print books for free works on each platform. Please contact their support.

My book has shown “Publishing” on D2D for over a year now. I don't know why that is so. I've been writing to the D2D team, yet no response! Do you know what could be the reason why the book hasn't “published” yet after uploading it for over a year and still counting???

I'm sorry that's happened! My books are always stuck on publishing mode for Bibliotheca, but that's not one of my main sales platforms, so I'm not too concerned. I hope support gets back to you.

What abt the pen name? I added the pen name on the book but on the title page, it shows the pen name with my original name. What to do then? I'm going crazy seeing it :)))

@@erikaharken Have u noticed the more marketplaces or territories u publish the book there is a high chance of being paid less because of the middlemen involved and they need to make a share of the royalties so what the author gets ultimately will be very less. I was just thinking if certain territories are avoided will it help that we get paid more? Can u pls share some light on your earnings? Did u receive a good amount of it? I have noticed the payment isn't paid all in a lumpsome like Amazon but in bits and pieces and then for print one has to wait for 4 months to collect their payment. So it's such a long boring and irritating wait period.

Is there any way to get around the imprint? Because I want to publish with Ingram Spark, but I don't want to create an imprint just because of this. Does anyone have suggestions?

There really is no reason not to use an imprint. All you need to do is simply think of a name for your "publishing company" and you're good to go :)

Just make it up and type it in :) If you get to the point of making hundreds or thousands of dollars consistently from your writing, that's when you should considering doing paperwork with your imprint name to form an LLC. I am not a legal expert but that is advice I've heard from other authors.

Hello, I am a resident of Korea. I have a question about ISBN. After making the book, I want to post it both on Amazon and ingramspark, but I used the free ISBN from Amazon. Then, can't I use that number in IngramSpark? Or can I use it? I want to post e-books for both, can't I get them for free?

You cannot accept a free ISBN from one company and use it elsewhere. That is done on purpose to help the company retain all profit from sales and make back their money from the cost of the ISBN. You will need to purchase your own from from an ISBN distributor in your country if you wish to use the same ISBN across multiple platforms.

Well, it looks like you probably never saw my post--or at least didn't respond--but faced with triage conditions and my publish date coming fast I took matters into my own hands since they weren't writing back and simply uploaded everything--and it seems to have worked, in spite of the fact that everything that appeared on my dashboard and that I got via email from them indicated it wouldn't. I guess you aren't monitoring this thread anymore (except, I guess to delete--twice--one response I posted to another user below to try to help him, unless it was done by the system, which seems improbable). Anyway, it worked.

Just seeing this lovely, helpful tutorial for the first time (GREAT JOB, thumbed up!), expressly included 2023 in the search term so I would get the newest vids, and yours popped up. Alas, mine is POD AND eBook, which you didn't go through. You obviously have beaucoup experience with Ingram, so wanted to see if YOU had any constructive feedback: I published the first volume of my historical fiction series in 2021, now I'm publishing Vol. II on Oct. 10 and have carefully paid for an expen$ive, expedited Kirkus review that took every last penny I have to coincide with its publication, hopefully will yield a positive review. BUT GET THIS: I was only making some minor changes to my POD profile back on late Tue. night, Sept. 26, for Vol. II on my Ingram dashboard, changing prices etc., did NOT get to the sections to actually upload the latest versions, hit "Continue" and then finally x'd out, did NOT get to the "publish" screen/button! Yet I woke up the next morning and had a horrifying "Happy Book Birthday!" ("You did it!") email, suggesting I order "finished copies" (not published, that's the sole encouragement I have), etc. If you go back on my dashboard, where it shows my Vol. II POD and eBook titles, BOTH say "Setup incomplete" on the left, "Finish setup" on the right under "Actions", and under "Publication Date" BOTH still say 10-OCT-23. Do you think my book could POSSIBLY have published? Isn't that what the "Happy Book Birthday!" You Did It! email is meant to celebrate? I wrote Ingram and GUESS what I got: FOUR DAYS LATER an email almost verbatim per your Aug 23 one! And your experience horrified me! It publishes in 9 days!! Yikes! Thoughts? Thank you, Erika! -Freaked-out indie author.

Hi Keylay - are you trying to say you wrote your book in Canva? If so, you may need to copy/paste or find another way to bring it into a proper word processing program so you can export it successfully.

An ISBN is a serial number used to easily find and categorize books, and can only be bought legitimately from Bowker in the US. They are expensive and if you don't want to use one, you can skip that field if possible or use a free one from the distributor you are uploading on.

I am ready to start my KDP journey but I have the same name as an existing author! How to I know when I should and shouldn't use my pen name. They have such strict rules but I can't seem to find an answer!

Before creating a pen name, it's always a good idea to google it to see if anyone else has already chosen it. But at this point, maybe you can add a middle initial, or some other small change (like adding "e" to the end of your last name or something) to differentiate it?

Is it FREE to upload both e-books, and print books with Ingram? Also: who would I list as my distribution source if I also published with KDP? Would it be Ingram if I publish with them as well?

It is free to upload ebooks and printed books :) KDP and Ingramspark will both automatically be your distribution sources since you are using them, but if it is asking for an imprint or publishing company name, just make up one that sounds good to you (it's best not to use your author name). For instance, mine is Verum Ficta Press, which you'll always see listed as the publisher.

That definitely doesn't seem right, as your book should start appearing on platforms within 24 hours. D2D support can look into your issue.

Hi! Yes, you can upload the same books to both. Just don't select Amazon as a distribution source when uploading to D2D.
