I live in Activewear. Have you ground any good Activewear brands? Leggings?
@CarolenGrayToday

Hey I haven’t specifically searched out activewear brands yet but I haven’t been looking for any yet either!
@CarolenGrayToday
@CarolenGrayToday 9 күн бұрын
most leggings I have found have a 90% and up cotton base and then spandex or elsatane. Pact, Ripple, Move by MATE are three great brands for that. If youre looking for ALL cotton the brand Cottonique is an 'allergy friendly' apparel brand. I havent tried it yet but will be looking for some alternatives for these pieces myself as I can afford to make swaps in the future. :-) Just remember the all cotton fabric for leggings specifically are not going to feel/fit the same as those with spandex or elastane. Im sure with more digging I can find some more options and maybe this needs to be a video discussing different brands etc. :-)

This journey really speaks to me from a biblical standpoint so I am going to be digging more into this too. I am going to check out some of the Activewear you mentioned. I feel rough and tumble has gotten a little bit sloppy in their construction. I’ve had a custom bag that the stitching started coming loose within a couple of months. Also, their prices have gone up astronomically and I don’t feel that the work put into the bags really is equivalent to the prices hikes. For instance, less pockets inside and out, no lining, etc. Also bought a custom bag that had two zippers and only one had a leather pull. When I contacted them about that, thinking it was an oversight, they said the second leather zipper pull is extra..? Wtf? I’ve stopped purchasing from them because of the decreased quality and crazy price hikes.
@CarolenGrayToday
@CarolenGrayToday 18 күн бұрын
Oh I agree! Sadly. 😢 I have purchased less and less direct from them and the lack of quality control from them is such a shame. Also agree on the price hikes. Like why are we getting less for more money? I think they’re a company that has grown too fast and they can’t keep up. But ultimately a lot of their policies and such are outdated and they’re not FOR the customer. I’ve seen more and more disappointed consumers in the BST groups because the quality control is not up to par and disappointment because customer service doesn’t take ownership of their very clear mistakes right off the bat (if at all) 😢 If you still want to love some Rough & Tumble bags check out the facebook groups and of course you can always find some beautiful bags on the resale sites like Poshmark, Mercari and eBay. Fraction of the price, way less wait and usually they’re tried and true bags and they’ve held up. 😊 I still love the leathers and the bags but hate the unsureness of the quality. Good thing I decided to take a break from so much buying this year - maybe they can get caught up to 2025! 😂

I think self reflection is really important. We honestly get way way too involved with one physical item or another and waste so much money that could be better spent. There is nothing wrong with spending, not at all. However it doesn't alway align with what we want most. It just assuages what we can't really have.

Hammitt is my fav purse brand and I'm a PM Ambassador😊 I just checked the hardware on my med VIP bag (my fav) . The hardware on the straps is more lightweight but I think it's due to it being hollow metal because of the sound when you flick the clasp. The seller should have disclosed the stain which certainly may have lowered your bid. I don't have that particular style Hammitt and it is smaller than I expected too. For bags I always need to see measurements bcs yeah they look bigger on some people lol

Store those in a tote and then when you're bored with what you have SHOP THE TOTE! Also on the flip side if you don't ever reach for or look for anything in that tote after 'x' amount of time you can feel pretty confident giving it away to a friend or family member or donating it !!! Great video! Honestly the problem is social media. Social media has created a need for attention and acceptance by monetizing it. So while it was a great way to find like minded people to interact with that you wouldn’t find in real life, it then introduced money into the mix. While it’s nice to get a like/comment on something you enjoy, when you start getting paid for it or want to get paid for it a new level is reached. That breeds consumerism and obsession, especially when people turned YT into a career. And I have noticed that some creators aren’t titling their videos with specifics anymore, because they want you to watch the video anyway. So if you specifically try to search for a particular bag because you’re looking for an honest review, you get really old videos. While I understand why they’re doing it, it turns me off. Also I think consumerism is trending down because no one can afford it thanks to unrelenting inflation. Quality has slipped for everything. It’s not just high end luxury either. Things need to change. Thanks for going against the cult & talking honestly about R&T! Another brand that was top notch but has slipped greatly. I find myself searching out older, better made items because if it’s still functional after 20 years then it’s a solid item. I had zero understanding of the Stanley craze. Perfect example of social media influencers doing the advertising for the brand. The same people proclaiming sustainability & recycling are the very ones promoting excessive consumerism.
@CarolenGrayToday

It is SO TRUE! I’ve been noticing all of that too! Al lof your points are SO on target and great points to be made and for people to hear!! I am really interested in commentary videos as of late more so than purse/bag related content and with that my whole brain shifts and changes and am more interested in the psychology of all of this rather than being a part of it. I am VERRRRRRY much going to try to continue my no buy month by month next year as well and potentially will allow myself to buy one or two but I don't really have the urge at this point. Some days more than others! LOL but thats where/when I have to slow myself down and ask why I am wanting so desperately all of a sudden when my life was FINE before this thing popped up. I know I am not the only one feeling that Rough & Tumble is slipping and I do think it is important to talk about the real facts of any brand. Maybe I will do a whole video on the ways different brands are slipping because no brand is perfect in any way but we do all get blinded at first. :-) Thanks for watching and commenting! Its an important convo to have!

@ it’s fine to “treat yoself” but I think we’ve all gone off the rails since the nonsense of 2020. I would love to see some normality return to life but I wonder if we’ve gone too far as a society in 4 short years. I spent 2 of these years battling cancer so I didn’t pay attention to most of it but now that I’m no longer sick it seems like I woke up in an alternate universe. Every single day I find something that flabbers my gasters and think- how did we get here? Hello! My name is Ally and I’m a recovering purse addict. 😂 I am in the same place on my purse journey. My husband and I are saving for retirement (we’re both 53 so it’ll be here before we know it) and college for our daughter. So, I have less money for the bag fund these days. Plus, bags just don’t spark joy or give me the dopamine rush they used to. I now exercise for the dopamine rush (plus health reasons and weight loss). Like Andrea said, the thrill of the chase is what’s exciting. I’m finding if I go out to the mall or am searching retail websites, I challenge myself not to buy anything and just enjoy window shopping. It seems to be working. I also shop my closet because 9 times out of 10, if I see something I like, chances are I have something similar already in my closet. I am embarrassed to admit how many bags I have and really need to thin my collection. 😂 For 2024, I allowed myself to purchase or ask for 1 bag per season or occasion. I asked for one for Christmas (pretty sure my hubby ordered it 😊). I purchased 3 second handbags this year. I am proud of myself and my family is shocked I was able to do it.

Hey purse addiction is a REAL thing! Shopping addiction as a whole! It is the thrill of the chase and the dopamine hit we get finding, ordering, tracking and receiving the next thing. Thats a great challenge only 1 per season if you're feeling like you really want something which also makes you wait to make sure you really want it. I am going to continue my no bag buy month by month next year and see how i do. Truly with the purchase of the Jenny by Rough & Tumble I feel bag peace. I haven't switched out of my jennys except to the other jenny I have! LOL I have two now and two IP and 3 or 4 other IP bags that I will have to make decisions on when they get here. Another reason I dont need to buy anymore - I have in production items - like get real Carolen! hahaha maybe this next year we can all do a no buy/low buy challenge together for support!
