Fave song in the game and the way you pieced it together like this. Is phenomenal!!!

Peter Venkman also does the half-step wiggle in the original Ghostbusters on the piano in Dana Barrett's apartment. Along with the statement "They hate this. I like to torture'em." Talking about the ghosts. I guess that proves that Peter sometimes knew what he was talking about. The wiggle wasn't just unnerving in Jaws, it seems.

7:37 "All they have to do... DAMMIT!" I laughed SO HARD at that, your sense of humor is quality, sire! Also, Grandma gives me chills, but no chills will ever be delivered the same way that Snow in Summer does with that opening scene... 10:27 just gets the goosebumps up and roaring EVERY SINGLE TIME... Also, that Grandma + Snow in Summer arrangement is fire!

This song, will ALWAYS give me goosebumps when it starts playing. It creates such a powerful atmosphere, perfect for the tragic story that is about to unfold to us (the player). I fell in love with Nier Automata (played it when it released), but boy was I not ready for Replicant's remaster to hit Steam... the music is somehow a notch above Automata's as a whole imho. Don't get me wrong, I love Automata's music as well, and Emi Evans' voice will never fail to impress me, but Replicant's tragedy is what makes it so much more powerful. Thanks Yoko Taro! This is why I cry myself to sleep every now and then 😀

Not sure if you need to hear this but you are an extremely compelling and clever writer. You’re a big inspiration to me, and singlehandedly the reason why I’ve decided to officially take on music training on piano at 26. Keep up the good work! I look forward to your return!

I did always see the Organization as a bunch of clowns. But not because of the music, or even the characters themselves. It's just how absolutely incompetent they are. You have two backstabbers for every collaborator, nobody trusts anyone, and it seems like Xemnas never actually tells anyone what the plans are. It's hilarious that they didn't destroy themselves before Sora even showed up. Presentation-wise, yes, they outdo Maleficent in the villain department. But they are just as bad at being evil as she was.

This has always been one of my favorite boss themes in KH. So happy watching a video analysis about it, I always enjoyed playing it and listening to it but never thought too much about the reason why. And hot take: almost all of the original releases of KH soundtrack are better than the new ones. the new ones sound too clean. CHANGE MY MIND! 😅

Okay this is just incredible god damn, I ma not really a music person, in the way that even though I enjoy it I never take the time to actually listen to what is being played in the music, the instruments, the notes, tone, etc. After the Embers video now I do try to listen to what is being discretely being played behind the strong guitar and voice... it is a whole new experience

honestly, i think the pre rendered cutscene music getting interrupted by the scene transition crash into combat is a thing of the engine and not bad design or scripting. I think it does kinda work here but they should make the transition crash happen between bars not random notes, like a minor intensifying break in a song

this video has ruined me. I can't hear rising consecutive chromatic intervals without thinking the song is about to turn into entry of the gladiators

This video is amazing, I don't know shit of music theory nor how to play a single thing, but god damn you make it interesting, the humor is good and on point and the explanations of story put there just to make the viewer feel the music when it finally comes are quite good, I saw this video a few months ago and forgot about it's existence until yesterday that I saw the thumbnail while scrolling through the main page and couldn't take it off my head until now, not listening to wildfire in a while really makes a big difference here, the second part took me by surprise for some reason, I know the song and I have listened to it while playing other games, studying and cleaning and know the lyrics by memory and yet it felt like the first time, thank you for that

I love how KZbin recommends me gold, years after it actually happens... Anywho, amazing analysis, I am an absolute music snob when it comes to masterpieces like Nier/Nier Automata. Years of studying music has made me come to the realization that there's some amazing stuff out there, and when I hear it, it brings chills down my spine! I can appreciate when composers put together all sorts of emotions and feelings, and the best part is, when it matches the story/gameplay to a tee, and gives the player the full experience. Absolutely tragic for Louise, she broke me completely ever since Route A, when I knew something wasn't right. Route B confirmed it, and imho, it's all Kayne and Tyrann's fault that this happened. It could have been avoided and talked through. That being said, I feel so bad, but I laughed so hard at 2:34 please forgive me 😂😭😂😭😂😭

omg amazing video i just recently started playing, probably just 2 hours in and already started looking for some expert opinion on this piece because it really captured me for how mysterious it is, and the fact that it plays throughout the whole section not just the cinematic, so you're basically playing and asking *"what the hell is going on?"* And then things get worse for yonah, nier screams for help and the cameras move away slowly and the music kicks in again and that's when you realise *"this world is screwed"*

As a music junkie as well as being a proud owner of hard copy cds of BOTH KH and KH2, this video gives me more joy than you could ever know!!! Those three chromatic intervals you demonstrated on the piano…🤤🤤🤤…I could listen to just that section on loop for an hour straight! Bravo on your detailed breakdown of the brilliant composer’s efforts!! This track has always been my favorite…and thanks to you, I know why.

Something I find SO interesting is in every character theme except Kainé use the Sus4 dominant chord! It feels symbolic and intentional to me, as Kainé's fate feels the most resolved and final.

My favourite part of the original Vector to the Heavens is that the Dearly Beloved motif only gives us the first few notes and then meanders but does not go into the usual higher notes ; it brings back the good memories associated with the motif but denies us the full phrase - instead just ends with a sad and wistful finality (see 16:47 of the video). Contrast with the Remind battle remix of Vector, in which the Dearly Beloved motif does go further before ending the loop - this shows Xion is now back and triumphantly kicking (Sora's) butt.
