Oddly, I discovered this song 10 years ago and was already a fan of the Whigs. Was going through a divorce from my 1st wife, and saw the video from Rescue Me and it described visually and musically how I felt. Finding out (after months of suspecting) your wife of 12 years is cheating on you with a common friend, well, yeah. I almost went Tommy Gavin on them both. Music is life, excellent music is therapy.

Council Bluffs, IA believes drugs are funny. My friend was hanging in a shed, they arrested me for walking. I had just found Denny went to heaven. They associated him and me with drugs. He was 22years old. A Father.

i thought this was the afghan whigs when i heard it for the first time. was surprised to find out it was actually their lead singer. just rediscovered this song after having listened to it on repeat in my STi driving back and forth from vegas to california. definitely a ringer.

There's a convention I used to go to with my childhood best friends. They both moved away but I remained. It was the only time I got to see them. One weekend a year. I remember one of them asking me to play something somber on the car ride home that sunday as it was over. I picked this because I had downloaded the YTMND soundtrack around the time. The car ride was totally silent until the song ended. That was the last time I saw them.
