Why does Katerina not seem to be concerned about Macedonia remaining Macedonian..seems to think it's okay for Macedonia to be renamed and Macedonia giving in to Bulgarian anti-Macedonian demands as Macedonia did earlier with Greece and Albania. She claims Macedonia will fall apart if Macedonia doesn't cave in to Bulgar demands. We've heard that one before. Macedonia is supposed to be defended by NATO.. Seems to be fear mongering of the worst kind.

At the end of this lecture Dr. Abu Lughod defends her observation of the West’s appetite for books filled with the sexual subjugation of Muslim women; though it is probably not a particularly ubiquitous experience; thus continuing the production of such books on the subject

I’ve been book-crazed all my life, on so many subjects it’s ridiculous, but I also like to watch top-drawer documentaries on KZbin when I need a break from reading. Documentaries covering subjects I know nothing about frequently stimulate my curiosity so that I get my hands on books to find out more, which is how I also assumed others thought. The problem I’m very concerned about as I scan down the comments sections after watching documentaries is that people watch 50-60 minutes about a person in history, for example, and they write as though they know all they need to know followed by completely ignorant, harebrained critiques. And I’m thinking, WTF?? Is it better for people who don’t read _anything_ and have varying levels of education to watch a bunch of documentaries and decide they’re experts, or better for them not to watch or read anything and remain in blissful ignorance? From the comments I’ve read, I’d say the latter!

We no longer have an empire.we as a country have done no more or less than other countries that have done over the years. There have been empires.slavery, theft ,rape, murder,It is not just Great Britain that the blame falls.THIS IS A PERIOD THAT HAS GONE.you. Cannot turn the clock back. And you can’t keep digging up old sores.None of us are responsible for our parents or our ancestors. What you and people like you,are creating more and more hatred by resurrecting all this.SPEND YOUR TIME on doing something helpful rather than furthering more hatred.A,ll this is over hundreds of years ago.move on,not backwards.

Well, think about it this way…..700 years of being ruled by conquerors builds up a whooooooole lot of resentment in future generations! Have you not heard of the theory of genetic memory, which suggests that general associations or common experiences (especially traumatic ones) can become incorporated into a population’s genetic code? It’s more complex than that, but it gives the idea. Next, I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase, “snap judgement”? You made a determination about a place with a distinctly different culture which you toured once for a couple of hours, encountered an “attitude” you interpreted to be passive racism/ethnic discrimination, and yet you have no problem saying that you were “stunned” by your perception! You seem to have zero suspicion that you _could_ have misjudged the people you didn’t even know, in a country not your own, and that, based on these facts, you wry well could have misjudged what you experienced. How can you be so sure?? This is _precisely_ the problem I have with 60 minute historical documentaries: they make people who have very little knowledge about or experience with information they’ve received from a documentary feel suddenly educated enough to make snap judgements, and there’s zero perspective taking in their comments. The words, “Could I be wrong about this, or overstating what I know?” are incredibly important, at least to me!

ED in their Netherlands, not mine. The origin, like in the video (not including Bettany... probably special forces brought in to resolve the threat), is socio-politcal-philosophical-religious (IUU) cultural decline, ultimately both creating and yielding an anti-human misogynist courtship framework that is harm... closeted male-homosexuals seeking male affirmation via the subversion and rape of a coveted object (an object to them, God to me)... women. ED is not a joke. ED is the devaluation of the raison d'etre in a world of human being. ED is a disease. ED is harm. Initially you may think that socio-cultural ED is humorous... until you experience the female form laced with hadaen remnants, laced with ED. ED is a weapon that should never be used on a battle field, like those banned in the Geneva Convention... the use thereof contradicting the purpose of victory: pleasure, life, beauty, truth. Seeing ED first hand is traumatizing, like a glimmer into the deepest cantos of hell.

Gilroy has this amazing sensibility, also shared by others like Stuart Hall, of being able to tilt the intellectual and political discussion out of their polarities, and at the same time, recognizing the debt that their thought shares with what was said before. It seems simple, but it is not such an easy task to complete.

Braidotti rejects a simple version of "we humans" used by companies to emphasize general vulnerability for profits making. She includes non-humans and is thinking of collective responsibilities of all life. While it is very inspiring, she said in her own essay that she knew that she asked a lot. Besides that, she hasn't classify companies. Companies can pin down life as a strategical marketing dimension and they do make money. Would local companies such as organic farm organisations, be blamed as heavily as big and global companies? What is the psychology of consumers when they buy that commercial mark of "humans"?

The historical enmity, if it exists, is not between differing skin tones but between the exploited and the ruling class especially in UK. This is what has to be addressed and no one dares to. It is much easier to control people if divided by race and skin colour. When these divisions melt away and awareness of equality in historical exploitation comes to common consciousness then the ruling class is faced with the terror of existential extinction.
