I love that he says the iconic line and is *immediately* ridiculed for it. Takes the sting out of the many times it's quoted and homaged, since I feel a fair few people don't know that's the line's immediate follow-up.

Isn't he just saying it as a joke?

The rebel, who has no values but merely seeks to be different by turning against whatever he is presented with, has no more examined himself than the conformist. All the rebel knows is he wants to be different, and all the conformist knows is he want to blend in. Both are perverse and shallow.

So...they didn't have a bass player?.... I know that's Dino on Drums, Felix singing lead and at the Keys?.... and Gene Cornish on Guitar?....So...who's the dude with the Shakers and Tambourines....and....Was THAT...his Station?...... ( Just Vocals...and Shaking various hand instruments?) I'm being serious. I"m assuming they didn't have a 'Live Bass Player'. So did Felix cover some of that from the Keys? Legendary Group, to be sure....
@VirreFriberg Жыл бұрын
The bass was provided by Felix who played the Hammond pedals with his feet. They did various bass players in the studio though, including Chuck Rainey.

Perhaps one of the saddest, most forlorn scenes in movie history. And yet, Charles Laughton (the best ever hunchback), shows an incredibly noble side to his role. I believe no-one ever needed a hug more, than he did at that moment. Nobody understands the disabled more, than the disabled - and nobody understands the broken hearted as well, as one who's been there.

….The acting of Charles Laughton is a landmark of performance, deeply moving in its tortured however shining humanity. I saw it first as a kid in cinema, was impressed and have been ever since. This movie should be available to the young generation. Quality has no expiry date.

Saw them three times in their heyday. They were so much fun to listen to. The drummer was absolutely phenomenal! Led Zeppelin and Young Rascals best two bands I ever saw. The Rascals were electric.
