I have a brush guard on my JD 530. I use Nylon lock nuts as not to worry about nuts coming loose during mowing season.👍😊

What is the best way to level deck? When you adjust mower deck height do you raise outside four wheels all the way up ?
@JoshsGreenGarage
@JoshsGreenGarage 8 күн бұрын
If you leveling it yes, you need all wheels off the ground. Once leveled you adjust the wheel I think 1/4” to 1/2” off the ground… can’t remember the exact number. But I usually put them as close as possible without touching. Pretty sure I have a video on leveling this deck. Might answer some questions for ya.

I'm not so mechanically inclined, so I really appreciate the detail you put into your video. This seems like it should be very easy. Surprised to hear that it's 100 hours for the oil change, I'm only at 40 haha

I'm thinking about this and making it a quick tool-less removal for when I'm dong 48" wide sidewalks. For that I like your modification with some different hardware. Great job and thanks for sharing the idea!

does that have or can you get a quick attach for the front? i'd like to use other products besides jd.
@JoshsGreenGarage
@JoshsGreenGarage 13 күн бұрын
What do you mean by quick attach? It has the John Deere quick hitch, it’s what gives you the ability to use front mount tool. There are a few companies that make different attachments for it. Not sure how compatible it would be with like a bobcat or kubota plow or something though.

The wheel assembly (bearings, rim, tire) is part number AM125926, and is currently $147.61 from Deere, you will need 2, so $ 295.22. This spreader is made by Brinly though, so if you don't care to get yellow wheels, you can potentially get part number 1018851 from them, however, I cannot confirm if it will be exactly the same wheel and tire. The tire looks slightly different, but the wheel is likely the same. These will run you $46.04 a piece. Please don't get mad at me though if they don't work.

I suggested replaceable/bolt on, issue is where they would be supported. Be tough without driving a complete redesign. Hopefully we will see replaceable weld on teeth, or perhaps a beef up kit of sorts.

Thanks for the video! I DO NOT have a floor jack and it really is lots of maneuvering to get everything aligned just right. The manual makes it sound really easy (which it's not), so thanks for the reinforcement with this video. A video showing how to replace the main v-belt would be helpful also.

Great review, I like your videos. I have a X730 and mounted the 1 1/4 inch receiver from John Deere and recently upgraded to a 2 inch receiver from Heavy Hitch that will quickly attach using the Click-N-Go brackets provided by John Deere. Wish I could attach a picture. Easy attach and removal, no modification at all. Now I have both size receivers.

@JoshsGreenGarage
@JoshsGreenGarage Ай бұрын
Hello, I’m very sorry, I need to take that video down. I’ve stopped selling them because a few people ruined it and I didn’t like eBay’s shipping requirement. I was selling them at a slow but steady rate, and started getting really irritated because I would get an order, send it out, then immediately get another, and I found myself constantly trying to get to the post office to send them, but it was hard with my actual job, and I didn’t want to trust just dropping them in my mailbox. I could have easily put in the terms that orders will only ship one day of the week or something, so this could have been an easy fix. The bigger problem was that in order to offer free shipping, I was sending them in a regular envelope, so there was no tracking. I had a few people say they never got them, so I had to blindly send more out at no charge. To add to that, there were multiple instances where people supposedly didn’t get them, and rather than contacting me about it, they submitted a claim with eBay, and then never responded to my messages about it, so I ended up having to pay all the money back. And we all know damn well that they got them. I’d sell them again potentially, but I’d have to begin charging shipping.

@JoshsGreenGarage

So I was always worried about this too, but I haven’t seemed to notice any issues, from -30 plowing snow to grappling logs at 80. They are pretty thick hoses, and wrapped in a heavy, surely heat resistant material. It’s Deere, it’s quality stuff.

Two things…any suggestions on how to purchase the protective netting? Can’t find one anywhere…lastly and more importantly, I can’t seem to get my sweeper to sit and more open to catch the debris. The two brass looking thin bars on the inside seem to be locked up and I can’t straighten them out to get the bag open fully…idk if that makes sense or not. Mine was already used by someone. I haven’t said anything in this video that is untrue or that I haven’t experienced.

Hey Josh, off topic but what do you know of the x740? How do they line up against the 750s? And am i demanding too much from my machine if I’m intending on mowing 5 acres with it ?
@JoshsGreenGarage
@JoshsGreenGarage 2 ай бұрын
Arguably the 74Xs are better than the 55Xs, due to a little more weight and ability to add the factory Deere loader. Deere doesn’t suggest the X7s on their “which mower are you” thing until you click 5+ acres. So no, it will be happy as a dog in a field filled with squirrels or something!

Yeah the machine purges any repairing air out of the lines and front axle. No need to worry about the rear either. Once you run it for a little bit and do some full lock to lock turn, check it and add a little if needed.
