Hey man nice video. About to change my 3.5 eco boost for the first time today. Not new to oil changes but nice to see where oil filter,drain plug are in advance. Some of these unappreciative dumb ass comments are some real dumb ass in-confident people who have no right driving or even owning a vehicle. Anyways,great video man!😀👍

you know how they have windshield washers, they should have tire washers for when they get all full of mud just turn on the tire washer and rinse them clean.

I wish there was videos on these but I'm getting a set myself in the 265/75r16. I have the kumho road venture at51s and they didn't last as they should so DONT BUY THEM they suck. When new they had 14/32 last May and now they have 8/32 and 9/32 left.....

It’s so hard to find these tires. Where’d you get them from?

Ebay or Discount tire in your area

They are holding up great, I’ve got 65,000+ on them now, never one flat. I’ll be getting another set by 70K just so they’re fresh for winter.

I’ve been running my OEM Duratrac on the tundra and saw these as well. Are they still fairly quiet at 60k+ miles? I notice my Duratrac now on the highway at 66k.

why does my oil cap say 5W20 on it?
@RohzekVT3 жыл бұрын
Because not every truck takes the same oil type, it depends on what engine you have in it. In this case, the Ecoboost engines take 5w-30 and the standard/Flexfuel engines take 5w-20. Always go by what's written on your oil cap/owner's manual and not just what you see online.

Really good footage of the kind of off roading most of us do. Put a set on my ‘07 Xterra a few days ago. Used to have BFG’s. Too noisy on the highway. These are super quiet, and just aggressive enough for my kind of off road and beach use. I’ve never geeked out over tires before, but Discount Tire and Goodyear have a good thing here.

I just picked a set of these up 2 weeks ago for my 2017 Eco Boost F-150. Great tire low road noise and the best snow tires I’ve ever had. I was in a foot of snow in the Cache Valley in Utah and barely needed four wheel drive. Also they do great at highway speeds regularly at 80mph. Buy them you won’t be disappointed.

Hello, I'm from SLC and do a lot of hunting (mostly up at flaming gorge or out by delle/magcorp area). I have a 14 F150 EB how do these tires hold up in rocky /muddy terrain?

The oil filter drain did not work for me, I suppose because of the ramp / lift. Did you take the truck off the ramps after draining the oil?
@Inlinesixgarage7 жыл бұрын
Paddleboy the drain channel underneath the oil filter will direct oil to the front or to the back. So you should be o.k. with the truck on ramps. I use ramps as well and the residual filter oil drains out the rear channel. Good luck.
@WereAllThatBored7 жыл бұрын
The reason it didn't work is you have the cloth dampener. The metal skid guard works flawlessly. I have the cloth version and all it does is soaks oil into the dampener until it becomes saturated. No fun
@supertitan213 жыл бұрын
I take both skid guards of it takes one minute with my cordless impact.

Just a tip; after changing the oil, hold the accelerator pedal to the floor and crank the engine. This will disengage the fuel injectors activate the oil pump to prime the filter and system. Another tip is to disconnect the battery on every oil change. this will reset your computer's learned values and give to better fuel economy.
@susan07294 жыл бұрын
Great tip, thanks
@jtalman966 Жыл бұрын
This tip has to be a joke. Change the oil and then floor it? Also, disconnecting the battery resets a bunch of other things like the clock, and stored channels, bluetooth settings... etc. Disconnecting the battery does not reset the ECU.

@antoniovelasco408 Oil Priming Procedure "Hold the gas pedal to the floor and crank the engine for 20 seconds at a time, waiting a minute between each interval to let the starter cool down" Care to explain why it's incorrect? I've been doing it for 8 years on the same truck. I also use this procedure if I haven't driven the truck for a couple weeks.

My 2.7 is a nightmare! I left the sound damp panel off of it... and after 55k miles I take it to Ford, done breaking my back. the filter is on top of engine & it's a canister with oil rings you have to replace.. o rings covered in oil, what could go wrong? Oil pan plug is a half turn odd plastic thing requiring 100% faith it will hold! 2.7 oil change is totally a nightmare crap non design joke... your smart to have 3.5!!!! I wish I had gone with any other engine.. anyway... I enjoyed the video, my girl likes to help when I work on truck !!! lol that's the best part...
@Inlinesixgarage8 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jay. It's not a bad idea to take it in to Ford for an oil change every 4-5 oil changes. That way they can inspect the fluids in all of your other gear boxes and do their 21 point inspection. Enjoy your Ecoboost!
@blackericdenice7 жыл бұрын
You got tired of changing your oil? What kind of man are you? I got 4000 miles on my 2016 F165 and I'm having an oil change cookout at 7500. This is my 1st car with the oil filter up top.
@pete3328 жыл бұрын
Hey Brother.. You don't have to remove the noise dampener or guard. You can access the drain plug from the side and the guard is designed in a way that allows the oil to funnel and drain thru the two holes at the bottom. Also my recommended oil for my non turbo 3.5L is 5w20, not 5w30. You said ALL ford engines are 5w30. Cheers
@jtalman966 Жыл бұрын
Hey @Pete332 - This video is for Ecoboosts. 2016 F150's with the ecoboost require removing the dampener. The metal guard under the filter can stay put, but to access the drain plug you definitely need to remove the dampener. No one cares about your non-turbo 3.5L 5w20. The ecoboost oil cap clearly says 5w30.

Thanks for the help on the Non-turbo 3.5. I care. It's my sons truck. I have the 3.5 twin turbo....
