I'm the youngest of 5 siblings, 2 boys and 2 other girls. My mother used to extend my money to all my siblings and nieces/nephews. That lasted too long from the age 18 - 29. I had been increasing my nos and now always firlmly say NO to everyone at 30. I didn't care when they often said I was being selfish with my own hard-earned cash. My sisters thought what my mom did was wrong yet they had the most “loans" with only 1 of them actually paying me back. Your money is your money! Some family only care for you to the extent of how much they can leech

Thank you! I have begun my journey by reading books about personal finance, and yours was the first that resonated with me on a deeper level! After hearing your audiobook, I realized that you sounded so familiar, then saw I had been listening to your podcast previously too 😂 Once again thank you for the content you have put out to help those like me, be able to build a roadmap to the life I desire, and understanding that it can in fact be a journey to be enjoyed! ❤

This was a really great episode. It really is hinting into healing the parts of us that are so focused on consumption and redirects to self-awareness and change. Thank y'all for this!

This reminds me a lot about my story of getting to Puerto Rico. Yes, living on an island is different from vacation, but I can say the schooling here is similar, and life is more laid back (honestly, very helpful as a single mom) and more expensive food. It sounds like there's more opportunity to grow your own food and eat locally, but overall, very similar experience! Even the pothole PTSD I have from the roads, lol....Great story!

You are a dedicated and patient sister who gave your sister sound advice. I hope your sister listens to you and doesn't have to learn the hard way. Blessings to both of you.

It’s so good you kept the apt in Dumbo, not only that it’s beautiful- today & tomorrow that apt will be soooo expensive- great investment for your family.

This was awesome! I've been in job fluctuations for years and trying to grow my own business but needing the funds to do it. Definitely been a career student since I graduated in 08 recession. For the past decades I've been laid off on and off. Definitely been a challenge. Limbo is a good way to describe it
