I know the reason about this "bug".... It is forcing you to buy spare batteries, because there is probably an excess of batteries in stock and nobody changes the battery in their calculator...and that is the reason why it is better to have a calculator without internal batteries like Casio
@TheLastMillennial6 күн бұрын
Most of the calculators with issues are within warranty so TI is spending a ton to cover the defects. I strongly believe this problem is mostly due to incompetence rather than malice.
@PabloArduz6 күн бұрын
@TheLastMillennial warranty only for US and Cananda.... The change on housing of the new batches of Nspire II that you can not open without breaking, and the same in W series of 84 ce....I don't know they make me doubt
@TheLastMillennial5 күн бұрын
TI also has warranties in Europe and other continents. North America + Europe is a significant portion of all TI calculator sales. I don't see why they would intentionally induce tons of immediate warranty claims. I'm not exactly sure what housing change you're referring to. The Nspire definitely has a terrible anti-repair design but it's been that way for 9 years. It still has a battery door thankfully. The TI-84 Plus CE design hasn't significantly changed since 2015 other than removing the charging LED in revision T. It hasn't become easier or harder to disassemble.

If you're allowed a calculator with CAS then Nspire CX II CAS or HP Prime G2. Otherwise a TI-84 Plus CE will suffice.

I have a question, is the calculator always smooth like what was shown here? Every program I run is running at something 5-10 fps, its unbearable to use and its annoying as hell yet every video I see presents the nspire as a smooth running experience

How much faster (more time efficient) do you think the ez80 could have been if it used 16mb of zero wait state ram?
@TheLastMillennial26 күн бұрын
The capacity wouldn't make a measurable difference. Reducing the latency could improve performance a lot. I'm speculating 2x - 3x faster. There's a writeup of all the terrible design decisions TI made here: www.cemetech.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=286128#286128 Edit: updated guess.

@@TheLastMillennial Thank you for your response. KZbin did not notify me of your reply, and even when I went back to this video to manually check it did not show up. Only when I set the comments to newest first did I see this reply. Cant even reply on your own channel without it getting vanished. Follow up question, would it be possible to ACTUALLY overclock the ez80? Perhaps not on the TI but on some other hypothetical system using the 50mhz version to lets say 60 mhz?
@TheLastMillennial23 күн бұрын
Where there's a will there's a way. The ez-80 is currently running at 48mhz and is only designed to run up to 50mhz. I have no idea how far past that you could push it. Overclocking the cpu wouldn't make much of a difference in performance since the main bottleneck is waiting around for RAM and Flash to return data.
