"Do not hesitate!" definitely the trick to crossing the roads in Vietnam 😂 Glad the trains are back running, they had to be cancelled when we were in Hanoi as the recent typhoon had damaged a bridge nearby. Great place to spend New Year's 😀

Sorry for all the questions, just one more. I checked French site and one of the questions it asks is Insurance. Did you just use your travel insurance or did you have to get some other kind of insurance to cover for public liability. Thanks.
@simonandmaddyКүн бұрын
Hey, don't be sorry. Always happy to help! The EASA website saids "The EASA Drone Rules require you to have insurance if your drone is above 20 kg. If your drone is below 20 kg, there is no specific requirement for insurance. However, most EASA Member States mandate third-party liability insurance also if you are operating a lighter drone. You can find specific information on their national authority websites." We were able to complete the registration, training and exam without one. We did get extra travel insurance to cover the drone though.

Have you guys been to Tassie? Is this a chain like the ‘Lobster shack’ in Bicheno ? I wonder if they are related. I had the best lobster burger. Now I want to go try the lobster at this place.
@simonandmaddy2 күн бұрын
Hey, yeah we have been to Tassie a few years ago and went to the lobster shack in Bicheno too! I don't think they're related, just a coincidence with the same name! The Bicheno lobster shack was delicious but we actually prefer the Cervantes one so you'll have to check it out 😁

Thanks for your advice. I have been told to do so in Ireland as it will be English but that of course will not be my first stop, my first will be London, which you have to register separately, will probably be Switzerland, and I don't think that will be in English. How did you find doing in France, was it in English. If in English I could do that as I will have to pass through France before getting there. I have a mini pro 4, still learning. Was the exam very hard? Did they give you information to read first, or are they just common sense type questions. How long did it take to get registered. You are the first person to answer my questions online. I have seen other people from other countries use drones, but they didn't answer. It is good to be able to get feedback. I have found it all a little confusing. One site says "yes" and another "no". Mine is under 250 grams, I got the smaller batteries for that purpose. If there is anything else you can tell me that would be appreciated. Thank you so much!!
@simonandmaddy2 күн бұрын
You can select English on French National Aviation Authorities website. It's been awhile since we did it but I think they give you information to read/watch first and the exam wasn't that hard. It only took a couple of hours to get the drone registered + the exam. With UK, as they are not part of the EU anymore, I think you will need a seperate registration to be able to fly your drone there.

would love to swim with the whale shark here... I have swam with the whale sharks in Puerto Princessa in the Palawans. They thankfully don't feed them like they do in other parts of the Phillipines
@simonandmaddy3 күн бұрын
It's such an incredible experience, isn't it! Ningaloo Blue does an outstanding job of ensuring the whale sharks remain in their natural environment, allowing them to swim freely without being disturbed 🥰
@xploradora803 күн бұрын
@ love that. Even tho I went for a better option in the Philippines that didn’t feed them I ended up jumping literally on top of one. That wasn’t cool!! I didn’t know obviously and maybe the boat captain didn’t realise how close we were when he said jump off the boat… Much rather a safer option for the animal.
@sueblakey18584 күн бұрын
Hello. Just watching your video. I can see you have a drone. I have one also and I live in Australia. Did you have to get a license to fly in Europe? I want to take to Switzerland too.
@simonandmaddy3 күн бұрын
Hey, Thanks for supporting our channel. With the drone, We had to register the drone and got a certificate. We have the DJI mini 3 pro and it's less than 250g the process was pretty straightforward. This is the website we used, it gives you all the information required. We registered and completed the online exam on the French national aviation authority because that was the first country we landed in. The registration is valid for the whole of Europe, it doesn't matter which country you completed your registration and exam in but it needs to be the first one you arrive in. Once you get your registration ID, you need to print it out and stick it on the drone. We also printed a spare copy just in case. Our drone never got checked but it's always best to be safe! 😊 www.easa.europa.eu/en/light/topics/drone-operators-pilots We also used the droneforecast app and the DJI map to know the fly zones. Hope this helps!

Budapest Experiences: Pest and Buda Budapest, the capital of Hungary, is one of the most exciting and vibrant cities in Central Europe, divided into two parts: Buda and Pest. The city is famous for its cultural heritage, history, stunning architectural landmarks, and its renowned thermal springs. But what lies in the city's two distinct sides, and what changes when someone moves from one part to the other? Pest: The Dynamic and Modern Side Pest, the flat part of the city, is bustling and dynamic, the hub of the economy, culture, and nightlife. Here, you can find the busiest shops, restaurants, and cafés in Budapest, as well as the famous ruin pubs, which are popular meeting spots for young people. Pest is full of historical buildings like the Parliament and the famous Andrássy Avenue, but it also showcases modern urban development, with new stylish buildings and restaurants. Living here, one can easily access all the major places in the city, making Pest the lively, fast-paced part of Budapest for many. Buda: The Calm and Green World Buda, located on the western bank of the Danube, presents an entirely different character. Here, nature, green parks, and historic landmarks dominate, and the pace is slower, away from the hustle and bustle, offering a space for relaxation and peaceful living. Buda is known for its breathtaking views, which can be enjoyed from the Gellért Hill and the Castle District. The Buda Castle, Fisherman’s Bastion, and Matthias Church are all attractions that reflect the city's history and traditions. In addition, Buda offers many areas where residents can live in a quiet, suburban-like atmosphere. Green spaces such as Normafa and the Vértes Hills are perfect for outdoor activities, making Buda a true retreat for those who prefer a more tranquil lifestyle. The Difference: What Changes with the Move? If someone has spent their whole life in Pest and then moves to Buda, significant changes can happen in their life. For those used to Pest, Buda might initially feel too quiet and slow, but over time, the hills, green areas, and peaceful environment can introduce a new rhythm to life. Living in Buda makes it easier to find tranquility and enjoy the stunning views, while still having access to the busy city center for work and entertainment. For those who are accustomed to the dynamic life of Pest, Buda might seem boring at first, but anyone who truly gets to know it can experience a completely different side of the city. The transportation between the two sides is incredibly easy, as Budapest is famous for its bridges connecting Buda and Pest, so switching between the two worlds is no problem. The experience entirely depends on personal preferences: Pest is ideal for those who enjoy the hustle and bustle of city life, while Buda suits those who prefer a calmer, nature-filled lifestyle. Budapest: Two Worlds, One City Ultimately, Budapest represents a unique place in Europe. Two completely different areas coexist in perfect harmony, offering distinct experiences. Both Pest and Buda provide various opportunities, and no matter where you live, you will always have the chance to enjoy the magic of Budapest, whether it’s relaxing in the thermal baths, discovering historical sights, or having a coffee in the heart of the city at night.
