Was this originally a poem that was set to music? Or of an earlier song that circulated around again... similar to how Jacob van eyck's der fluyten lust hof was a collection of the pop songs of the day lol? Im trying to find more info on La Monica

Ganz wunderbar.

My father was a keen fan of Chopin and he use to listen to him before he passed away with a brain tumour and it lead to a cancer and I had to choose two Chopin types of music for his funeral and I think this is one of them that I chose but both of them had a flighty air feeling and because my father was an air tiger so I chose the air flighty ones for his sending off.😊

I will always reiterate it: playing music not written for organ is simply stupid. There is enough (and more) wonderful pieces written for organ, needless to add other ones. Musicians should never forget that a music is written for a given instrument.
@-core_26917 ай бұрын
This was written for organ by Franz Liszt. If you think this is stupid, then what do you think of his transcriptions of Beethoven's 9 symphonies, do you also think they're stupid? What about his transcriptions of Schubert's 12 lieders, or of his own Faust Symphony's 2nd movement? Using your logic, if there's already enough wonderful pieces written for piano and organ, why would anyone compose for those instruments?
@nicolaswiernsperger62427 ай бұрын
@@-core_2691transcriptions were made at a time when people had no records to listen to music, and econimically only few people were able to attend operatic houses for example . Oragn ( which I played) is a very special instrument, in my view in no way adapted for a piano transcription. but each of us thinks freely, right ?
@mariannesylv34137 ай бұрын
C'est Franz Liszt qui a fait cette transcription, je ne pense pas qu'il était stupide

Chopin requested for this piece to be played on an organ at his funerals. Bet you wouldn't try to scold him on that =)

So what do you say to all those performers playing Bach on a modern piano? He didn’t have one to compose for, so by your logic, nobody should perform his keyboard works on a piano. 🤷♂️

This is fantastic. Liszt has such a huge catalog of magnificent piano music that would be thrilling to hear if orchestrated like this. I would love to hear Funerailles or Fantasy & Fugue on B.A.C.H and other piano pieces arranged. The Transcendental Etudes too. Of course Mazeppa was already orchestrated by Liszt himself, but there are so many masterpieces to choose from, offering listeners an alternative version to appreciate.
@mehdiadlany6 ай бұрын
I totally agree with you.
@marcosviniciosribeirocompo11375 ай бұрын
This is a positive argument, since Liszt himself liked to make different arrangements of his own work and that of other composers; on the piano, in the orchestra etc...
