I have a scuppernong vine in my back yard, we bought our house this year. I’m not sure if this vine has ever been pruned. It is so huge and did have fruit this summer. How much can I cut back without killing the vine? The trunk is about 6”-8” in diameter. Another question is do I need to wait until March? Can I do a cut back now, then do a more focused prune next year?

Truer words have never been spoken regarding cleaning the machine every milking. When I first started out with my simple pulse, I followed the manufacturers recommendation. They said, suck up a pail of bleach water, then suck up a pail of clear water to rinse, then hang the lines and inflations to dry. Take everything apart once a week to brush and sanitize each piece. My milk tasted terrible, very bucky. I thought that was goat milk. This year, I decided to take the milk lines and inflations apart to brush and clean every milking and the milk is amazing. Zero goaty flavor! I really enjoyed your video. You remind me a lot of my vet in the way you explain things. 🙂

Wondering if I can prune my old vines any time of the year. It's summer and I am trying to train vines to a wire trellis.
