Mine ended up being the rod tubes. Water was getting in the tubes and leaking out of the end into the hull. I pulled the rod tubes out of the kayak and used clear silicone to seal up the ends. Then when I put them back in I used the same silicone to seal where the tube plates meet the hull.

How did you make the drawer? Could you post instructions just like with the platform?

The drawer was interesting. At work we had ordered something that came in a lightweight wooden crate. I cut the crate to form that drawer, so I didn’t actually build it. That said you could make it easily with some 1x1 strips and the lightest, thinnest ply available.

I have never specifically used 1/2 inch, but based on some of the very sketchy sticks I have managed to use over the years on a whim I'd say it will. It will come down to your rig, the wind, the lake bottom, and the strength of whatever the 1/2 inch pole is made from. Thanks for watching!

Oh that's weird, it's playing for me so I wonder why. Thanks for watching, it makes a great pole. You should know that some people have said it's no longer available, but in my local area it is. So the availability seems to be regionally based. That said it was 1.5 inch diameter if I recall correctly.

I’d still consider the Source Steer! It’s so clean, strong, and smooth. At this time I’ve been pretty happy with the rudder so I haven’t looked into options to upgrade it. I had installed a Boonedox rudder on one of my Hobies and was happy with that but I never liked the factory rudder on those.

This won't work against rats. They can and will get out if it. Along with any of the commercially sold glue boards. Must rat glue or something equally stronger than tape or glueboards.

@@PenguinOutdoors I got it out. I used a 15 dollar set of 3 drill bits from harbor freight that are 25 inches long. Drilled right down the center of the auger through the clog. Punched the auger out with a hammer and a piece of rod after banging it on the ground a few times. Thanks for the help I wouldn’t have made it without you.

@ I found it. It’s called auger housing box. It’s 150 bucks. The bang method isn’t working. When the hardware store opens up in the morning I’m going to go grab a 5/16 drill bit that is 25 inches long and drill through the clog right down the center of the auger.
