I have an anxious attachment style. I am very confident but I do worry that my boyfriend will leave me.
@TheLadyDelirium5 ай бұрын
I've got an anxious attachment style as well but I'm really trying to work on it. Realising that most relationships don't last forever made me start to focus more on enjoying the time with the person right now rather than worrying too much about the future but it's not easy. I barely date because of my attachment style so it's nice to see how others deal with it.

Is the SJMC building at the round rock campus? And if so how were you able to balance going back and forth from San Marcos to round rock on a daily basis? I’m stuck in between Journalism & Mass Comm but that hour drive to round rock from San Marcos is throwing me off 🥴🥴

yea, the mass communication building is in old main (san marcos) - the first building to be buildt at texas state - it’s a beautiful building. the professors are amazing- one helped me get a job working at where i am right now.

I really think you should talk about your major more often, enlighten us about it. Ow... stop beating yourself up , the sadness you have is caused by you comparing your life with others, social media is a smiling mask that everyone puts on, therefore you shouldn't let it determine your next move or let it cause you to re-evaluate who and where you stand in life... success happens at its own pace ,we don't realize it because we're oftenly focused on ourselves and getting where we want to be, the moment we look at someone's pace of success or progress, we tend to feel the insufficiency. Don't fall for that trap it reduces your energy and the odds of you succeeding.🙃

Trust me, graduation was a really weird, bittersweet moment for me. I was so focused on getting a job that I don't think I properly appreciated it. Life is so confusing and hard to find your way, especially because our society is so hyper-focused on having everything set in stone all the time. Life is fluid, as are jobs.

@TreyDewitt2 жыл бұрын
i actually really love bobcat village. it’s one of the only “dorms” that has an apartment style. You have your own room and bathroom. You can live on your own or with a roommate. The only downside - it is across campus. meaning you are going to have to take a txst shuttle every time you want to eat or go to class. However, no issue because there are many shuttles that goes around the university (you will never be late to class).

For getting into traditional radio(AM/FM), there's schools like the "Recording/Radio Connection", or Connecticut School of Broadcasting, and then, there are the MassComm and Journalism degrees offered by many major universities. If you want to be taken seriously by any radio or TV station you want to start your career at, mention CT School of broadcasting to them and see how long that phone call will last, lol! Unfortunately, most outlets are looking for a degree with at least a modest portfolio(blog entries, airchecks, etc) if they are going to consider you seriously

I was a mass comm major. I graduated from college in 2005. What I’ve learned is that the easier the major, the harder it is to find a job. The harder the major, the easier it is to find a job in that specific field. Just my two cents for anyone wondering…
@jacobnair67072 жыл бұрын
Nah there are plenty of hard majors that have bad job prospects. Take chemistry or bio for example.

@TreyDewitt2 жыл бұрын
I would say follow your heart on the school you love the most. go to each campus visit and see what is right for you. i went to both schools and i loved it. the reason why i left Sam was because I wanted to be closer to Austin, Texas (personal choice haha). but yes, i know you are going to thrive in your major no matter what! ❤️🔥

You realize that Texas State University is a school that has a history of violating student's civil rights. The school allows faculty to have sexual relations with their students without being punished. The school falsifies their sexual assaults statistics and cover up how many of their students are raped. Joanne Smith a body positive woman of color was cited for lying and covering up the assaults of 36 women. Denise Trauth, who is being forced to resign at the end of this year because it cam to light that she too was lying about how dangerous Texas State is for women when she lied to the Austin American Statesman and refused to give them the university's crime data. Both these women have been forced to quietly resign and the university was not fined a single dollar. While Rice university that same year also violated the Clery Act and was fined 5 MILLION dollars! Who are these women in bed with to avoid millions of dollars in fines? Why would anyone go to a university where Joane Smith who violated women's civil rights at least 36 times gets to reference MLKjr. as one of her heroes while sweeping the rapes of dozens of women under the rug ... and no one cares, no one is held accountable and students still are encouraged to attend this rapiest of schools?

Recently I am thinking of going back to study part time degree as a working adult. So I have two options which are English major and mass comm major. I wonder which is more useful. I am using some of my saving funds to pay off the loan so I gotta be careful of what I choose
@TreyDewitt2 жыл бұрын
In have so many loans, so I understand how you feel! I would also try to look for any scholarship you can apply too if you have not yet. I had a friend who applied to so many and her college was paid for haah. As far as picking your major, I can make a video on how to choose the right major (I will add that to my list rn). You can always major in English and minor in Mass Communication to get both information. I felt the same exact way with my major and my minor. Hopefully that helped! Good luck! You got this!
