Ok, so I have gone with this pattern, but I added my own twist. I combined the top that goes with this skirt into a dress, and I have most of it done, but I am having a problem. I want the dress to go down to my knees, but it is only at the waist line, and it seems like it has further to go than what it seems. I have only done 8 rows, with 5 of them being increases. Anyone out there with a similar idea has a range on how many more rows I should do? It's about 18 inches from where it is now until my knees. But it has a lot of ruffles to it, and that's where it is confusing me.

How many rows would I make if my waist is 40 inches

im a bit late (and not the op) but it kinda depends on how tightly youre crocheting but the waistband should fit your waist when unstretched so make a few rows, measure how long they are when unstretched and then you can divide 40 inches by that length to find out how many rows you need to make!! for me, 1 inch was about 3 to 4 rows so i would need to make 120 to 160 rows, but its best to measure your own work since it may vary!! i personally just crocheted until the length seemed about right, tested it on my waist, then added or frogged some rows based on that

You can adjust the size starting from the foundation chain, which is based on the measurement of your bust part in a vertical way. As for the number of rows of double crochet, just make rows until the length is enough to be wrapped around your bust without stretching the stitches. Hope this helps! 😅

hey, im currently working on this skirt right now and im a bit confused about the tie part. she doesn't really show what it looks like(or maybe i missed it?), but everyone seems to understand and i just feel stupid 😭 can someone explain how im supposed to tie the skirt? is it tied like a shoelace? do i place the tying part at the back? @@mutesm you may check your chest area in a vertical way, if the starting chain is not enough then add chains. The chains should be in even number (+1 for turning chain)
