My 7500 has too much blue. I adjusted pots but no luck. Any ideas?
@buffett19788 ай бұрын
if adjustments are not doing what is expected, then either you have a tube problem, a wiring problem, or your chassis needs to be repaired as it has issues in the blue circuit. if the actual game blue parts do not change when you turn the adjustment knobs and just the entire screen changes, i am guessing it is a chassis issue and you need to send it in for repair. but if your chassis has never been serviced it needs to be before it fails or gets worse. please visit my site and email me, thearcadebuffett.com

Back in the 70's we used a home-made device that we called the tube cooker. It was really simple, it just applied HT to the grid of the CRT via a resistor. Connections to the tube were made with small croc clips. Great for mono tubes but once colour came along we got the B&K 467 and it was a great piece of gear. Even what seemed like a 'beyond death' tube would come back and look great! That was a great demo you did and it all came back to me! Happy days!

Can I take a u4000 chassis and put it on another monitor?
@buffett1978 Жыл бұрын
HI, there is no such U4000 chassis, i am guessing you are referring to the U5000. the answer is yes and no, Yes as it is a direct swap for a U2000 as the yoke is the same for both chassis. yes as it can work with other low impedance yokes. no, as it can have brightness, contrast and width issues that cannot be adjusted out if placed on another yoke it is not designed for. hope that answers your question.

Superb video. Would it be possible to manually desolder the fixed mid res jumper on the k7500 to the k7400 position to convert k7500 to standard res? Such a shame they removed that jumper to switch res easily.
@buffett19782 жыл бұрын
HI, thanks and glad you liked the video. no it is not that simple, there are a dozen or more parts that have to be changed and some re-routing of the traces to make it work and that is if you can still even do it. it is not worth the time or money to do all this. the 74/75 was the apology chassis line for the badly designed U5000.

Buffett, I didn't know that there are medium resolution K7000 monitors. What is the difference in the chassis?
@buffett19782 жыл бұрын
sup Tighe, there are quite a few differences, the width coil is different, there are around a dozen give or take different resistors, capacitors and other parts, the Linearity coil has different modifications on some chassis, there is a satellite board that affects the signal to neck board, the YOKE is different, a STD RES yoke CANNOT!!!! be used, there are jumpers on the bottom of the chassis in the width section that change or add traces not on the STD RES chassis. 99% of them are FAT neck tubes, only a handful of Skinny neck yokes exist. so lots of differences between them. if you do not know what your looking for on site you would mistake it for a STD res chassis.
@equinoxshadow71902 жыл бұрын
The vertical size appears a bit challenged.
@buffett19782 жыл бұрын
nope, it adjusts just fine, the linearity may be not adjusted 100% this is also a 20" tube so the image will not fit 100% either. the chassis is 100% working as it should and all adjustments go threw their full range of adjustment.

HI, yes i still sell them, please email me at [email protected] i have had good luck with rejuvination over the years, most tubes seem to be ok, yes there are some that fail again shortly afterwords, but in a home environment it seems to work well, in an Arcade where the already used tubes are run 8-15 hours a day, no, not as much pending on the tube. thanks for the support, hope you enjoy the videos i will continue to post in the future.

Hi Buffett! So I did a cap kit w/ B+ filter cap on a Sanyo monitor in my PC10. Fired it up to check the B+ voltage. It was coming in low, around 94v. As I started turning it up at the B+ adjustment pot, and it jumped up pretty quickly... then the screen went blank. I turned it off and back on and the screen was back ON, but B+ is now 0.00 volts and when I attempt to turn it up, it starts to climb, but then goes back to 0.00v Any thoughts?

Hey man - I emailed you the other day, but figured I'd hit you up here as well. I hear that you had maybe looked at putting together documentation of original factory chassis mods for various common models. I sure could use such guidance for the WG 19K4900, if you ever did compile such a thing. Some idiot (maybe me?) removed the extraneous caps, resistors, and diodes from the solder side of the chassis, years ago, without knowing how problematic that would be in the long run, Any suggestions?

see if you can ohm the heater pins, if you can that will narrow down what they are a little, if you have the neck boards you can trace the circuits to find the color guns and the ground pins, once you get that info you can match it up or post your readings, and maybe someone can help match them up. or i can make a custom adapter with your neck board if your trying to rejuve them, also is the tube a dual focus tube? some are if they have 2, focus pins.
