How come this preacher spent more time quoting from the wrongs of the church fathers, than quoting from the Bible itself? Do we judge the NT Bible by the NT Bible, or by the wrongs of its practitioners? Is he saying that if a Jew doesn’t get saved in Jesus Christ, he won’t see condemnation because God has a different marking scheme for them? Is that what you’re saying?
@jamesdavidian7717Ай бұрын
I'll disagree. I would argue a Christocentric reading of scripture keeps Jesus, His initiation of the new covenant, and His teachings as the foundation and matrix through which to further interpret and presently apply the OT and NT. It is not that Jesus is a symbol or picture in every text, he's not, but accepting Christ's divinity and authority makes Him unavoidable in any Christian reading and application if the Bible. Simply put, Jesus is the sauce that saturates the Bible's redemption story, and it is impossible to ignore His reflavoring of the OT and His aroma influencing the NT. So a Christocentric hermeneutic is unavoidable. If we want to be honest, Jesus the source of all language, logic, and scripture, so we are playing on His playset.

Replacement theology is a made up term to attack all who understand that we are under a new covenant.

There is no replacement theology. In Matthew 21, Jesus said that the kingdom would be taken from the Jews and handed over to others. This guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about. If you are born again, Paul says you are true Israel.

I don’t understand what the scandal of a here. Are these church fathers saying horrible things about the Jews for NO reason?or are they saying these things because they are jealous of the Jews for being God’s chosen people ? If so then who are we who’s sin is covered by the blood of Jesus? Are we no recipients of the promises of Abraham by being in Christ ? Go read Galatians and Hebrews and tell me what you think

This is excellent teaching. It is a shame though, that the KJV is placed in such a bad light. It isn't necessary. My KJV has headings of, from Ch 41, 42, and 43, Israel Is Chosen by God, God Delights in His Elect, The Judgement of God & A Way in the Wilderness. There isn't any mention in the headings of anything to do with the church.
