Just heard this song in a coffee shop and love it. Beautiful lyrics and singing.

I don't know how to feel about this song. I discovered it just as I lost the person I thought was my soul mate. I can't stop listening to it, but I really don't know if it brings me peace or makes me utterly desolate. I know she would love it.

What masterful storytelling. Heartbreaking and beautiful all at the same time. Draws you in with the beauty of the finger style paired with a story of love. All that to be followed with the sudden shift that hits you like a bus, the way that news likely hit John. A piece of art that was expertly crafted and beautifully heartbreaking.

John’s underrated for some inexplicable reason. Sarah is consistently brilliant

I came here from another video where you were being interviewed about this guitar. I would love to know more. I’m a producer and session player in Texas. I frequently gig as a solo acoustic act though

Don't wish it away Don't look at it like it's forever Between you and me I could honestly say That things can only get better And while I'm away Dust out the demons inside And it won't be long before you and me run To the place in our hearts where we hide And I guess that's why they call it the blues Time on my hands could be time spent with you Laughing like children, living like lovers Rolling like thunder under the covers And I guess that's why they call it the blues Just stare into space Picture my face in your hands Live for each second without hesitation And never forget I'm your man Wait on me girl Cry in the night if it helps But more than ever I simply love you More than I love life itself

Saw John play this to open his Exeter gig last week - my first John Smith live experience after listening for almost two decades. Loved every minute, but when he Candle and the bass kicked in, the goosebumps were UNREAL! Where is he getting that bass from?!? Keep being great, John!
