Probably change out the anode rod before you drain the tank, so the water weighs the tank down. Might also try an impact wrench with a weighted socket

You are already using a core depressor, so the RealSeal fitting is redundant at this point.

◄ John 3 ► New King James Version Par ▾ The New Birth 1There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.” 3Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born [a]again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” 4Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” 5Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” 9Nicodemus answered and said to Him, “How can these things be?” 10Jesus answered and said to him, “Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not know these things? 11Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness. 12If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man [b]who is in heaven. 14And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15that whoever believes in Him should [c]not perish but have eternal life. 16For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”

good video, only one around that explains and demonstrates everything.

Do any of you try crimping the end metal sheathing on the red bushing to hold it in or do you rely on the connector to hold it in place

One thing I'd say is he's tightening the fuck out of his shit, I'd definitely recommend easing up on tightening them so hard

It looks like i was going tight on the system but I couldnt get my damn thumbs to actually turn the tool on to the service valve. So i wasnt tightening as much as it looks. Having said that, you do want to be more gentle with this tool as the gaskets dont like lots of pressure, and I did learn that the hard way! Cheers, Alex!

C&D Valve CD2070 Large Thumb Screw Core Depressor with Back Seat , I bought the tool but it doesn't work, the refrigerant started spraying out of the thumbscrew. Do you have any tips on the use?
@donaldbakerakathedonofhvac2 жыл бұрын
This one in the video is made by Yellow Jacket. I have seen the C&D ones but to be honest they looked kinda poor compared to the Yellow Jacket ones (i.e. cheaper brazing of the fittings, cheaper brass, cheaper and bulkier thumbscrew). I would say try the YJ ones I use.

Hoes does the O ring hold up?
@donaldbakerakathedonofhvac2 жыл бұрын
The tool uses a double o-ring and I wish they didn't. I would prefer if they used something more like what is in the core depressor end on a refrigerant hose. The inner depressor part of the tool tends to want to rub the gasket sometimes when back seating after testing, and wears out the back gasket faster than I would prefer to be honest

very informative. do you have to purge any air after hooking up gauges?
@donaldbakerakathedonofhvac2 жыл бұрын
I suppose there is a small amount of air with the tool itself but extremely minute.

Um thought u were going to show how to replace the core w pressure on the system w that tool. Instead u showed how to just basically put it in series w ur gauge. Maybe cause dumb clearance on that unit u were just pointing out u can use the tool as an extension piece for those gauges. And how to not have to lose refrigerant on the system w those gauges by using the low loss fitting.

Have you worked with low loss fitting in a 410a Mitsubishi system when the compressor( inverter system is ramping up?) , then you will understand why the 18993 Gas retention Valve & Core Depressor Valve 1/4" MFL X 1/4"" FFL is a must. your time will come to learn why do you really need to pay attention to this. video. I was working on a server room (IT department) . Yellow Jacket 18993 helped me. Like I said before your time will come. Knowledge is power if you are flexible to listen and learn from others before you criticize them.
@donaldbakerakathedonofhvac2 жыл бұрын
The point to the video is to show that you do not need to release ANY refrigerant when hooking up to a system. No need for hoses or manifolds. Use this tool when hooking up for checking system operation/diagnosing. Other tips (not all in video): Use a core removal tool to change the core. Remove the core and use an Appion speed Y and 1/2" hoses for fast recovery. With the core out, use Appion 1/2" vacuum rated hoses for fast evacuation. And always get you Happy on with an Appion TEZ8 pump and G5 Twin reclaimer!
