Currently in the Infared now. The gym I use is called Hotworx and they have the tv panels inside each room if you’d like to do their workouts. They also have bikes, rowing equipment, etc. In the rooms.

Hey Joe. I got mold-poisoned in a dry sauna that had a crazy amount of mold. I am never doing that dry sauna thing again without looking under the bench. Have a look at this crazy issue at Gold's Gym: kzbin.info/aero/PLYafvNsaL1NsBGwXU9FvKjiOwqWXPK0Ue

NOTE TO SELF: unless your infrared is a HEALTHMATE enrich 3 or above (or equivalent) which will go to 170 degrees and you preheat it before getting in…. You have never really tested a quality infrared sauna. This is because the marker has been saturated with low end infrared saunas which do not go hot enough. End of story.

Common sense suggests probable optimization of results with a Combination Infrared and Traditional Sauna...more heat + the Deep Penetrating IR. IOW...Build an Infrared Sauna then ADD a heater that boosts the temperature to ~175° -190°.

‼‼‼‼ *DANGERS OF INFRARED HEAT* ‼‼‼‼ seems unnatural man. artificial and against nature. quick google search proved my assumptions about potential dangers of red light wavelengths. Its because of its ability to penetrate deeper into skin which gives it both its healing factor, yet also its dangerous factor. Too much exposure to it at high levels can damage DNA cells because how well it is at penetrating deep into tissue. DNA cells are known to break down or denatured at 170F and above, Meaning, it would be very easy for people to over doze on this light especially since they are using saunas at 200f for 1 hr. heres a quick facts ______________________________________________ *What happens to DNA at 90 degrees?* Denaturation by Heat: double-stranded DNA is separated into two single strands, by a process called denaturation which occurs at temperatures higher than 80- 90 degrees Celsius (176f-190f). Heat breaks hydrogen bonds between the base pairs, while the stronger bonds between deoxyribose and phosphates, remain intact ___________________________________________ *Can infrared damage body cells?* IR affects the electron transport chain to generate ROS, which does not only stimulate signal transduction at moderate levels, but can also damage cellular organelles directly when generated at excessive levels __________________________________________ *Is infrared harmful yes or no?* Any prolonged exposure to this form of infrared heat can leave thermal burns and cause the skin to age prematurely, as well as damaging the corneas of the eye, which means protective eyewear should be worn if there's ever the possibility of exposure. ____________________________________ Studies are all over the place showing benefits but also harmful effects if one uses it too much for prolonged times. Your best bet is to do Dry Saunas to be safer.

So much snake oil discussion. “Deeper” sweat? No such thing. Sweat is sweat. Comments also include a bunch of ridiculous, unsupportable, unsupported assertions. Even the extensive research done on saunas has been done in Finland, where they know the answer: saunas are good. It’s their culture so there would be no other answer. Saunas definitely make me feel better but I’m not doing it for miracles. It’s part of my heritage and it feels great and who knows? It actually might work. But we really don’t know because every human will react differently. So stop with the faux-definitive “as if you know” crap and get in the sauna. 😅

I feel like the biggest thought here was never fully discussed. The studies of all the health benefits is from a dry sauna so can we really get those same benefits from a infrared sauna? Why does the dry sauna produce these benefits and why could or couldn’t a infrared do the same.
