Akap sa Bata ng mga Guro-Kalinga Philippines, Inc. (Akap sa Bata Philippines) - Akap sa Bata are three Filipino words combined. Akap literally means “embrace”, sa is a definite article means “the” and Bata means “child”, which means “Embrace the Child”. It is an organization of volunteer care-teachers (guro-kalinga) in the community level addressing the need for Early Childhood Education and other issues and concerns of children among the poorest of the poor. Focus on Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) supported by essential programs that help children develop their full potentialities and committed to the total human development of children’s families and communities as well. We believe that any development initiative in the Philippine must take into primary consideration the plight of children and women. Our programs and services empower families and communities for the social transformation of society where values of justice and peace and the integrity of creation reign.
