Man, with all due respect to Kane, Adams, Buscema, Chan, and numerous others, those Smith issues were just phenomenal, especially the grand farewell issue #24.. The Sword and Sorcery genre was never higher than it was in the 70s-80s.

I've been a KISS fan since 9th grade. I started my freshman year in high school the same week KISS Alive was released. I owned a lot albums at that time but I had never rushed to the music store to make a purchase so fast as when I heard KISS Alive for the first time. All these people all over the world trying to find out their true ID's ..WHY !!! ?? ...I didn't want to know. If I did I would have been finished ruined. Then came 1983. MTV revelation. They revealed themselves and it broke my heart. KISS was over. I still remained a loyal fan and still loved the guys and I still remain a fan to this very day.

I love this version where they re-establish the main riff each time it appears, Gene's bassline walks up the arpeggio scale and Ace's solos are somehow both simpler and better than the final.

It was a private party. Paul must have had a🥃. And he thought Ace was 🤣 funny. I didn't read Lydia's book. But it was Ace, who bought the stuff. Ace said in an interview Japanese girls brought the stuff. However, Prince Harry had to apologise for his Nazi uniform, because he wore it publicly. KISS were private.

The Bandit Style looks better. Maybe he should have just done the inner area up in Gold, with the eyeliner still in Black, or, Mauve? Would have still looked Awesome. The 'Starchild' look is "Passable," but, hey, people also make junk food that tastes like cardboard...🤔💋

Theatrical image aside (although that most likely was a unique selling point) if they sounded anything remotely like this when first presented to the record company, it's no wonder they got signed. Most band never manage to sound this good even after they get professional recording backup.
