It is very unpredictable, ML can work flawlessly one minute and the next it gives all kinds of weird things, it was working and then all of a sudden, when I take a picture I get what I can only describe as the old fashion contrast negative just for a split second and then disappears but the picture that is taken is fine. I also can find the raw video features.

Hi there, I'm looking into getting magiclantern on my 5dmk2 too, but i use an SD card to CF card adaptor.. wondering if the write speeds of the adaptor will limit the video abilities and to what extent

Heya, just seen your comment. I don't think magic lantern will work with an SD to CF adaptor. I had to purchase a CF card specifically for ML. Unfortunately my 64gb CF card fills up very fast which requires to go back to the laptop to transfer footage and erase before continuing filming. Currently looking into a new cameras for better video capabilities as not having AF can be pretty annoying!

my camera does not have an hdmi of sny sort, what should i do?, I only have a mini usb a round video out and a smaller round thing in the middle, I am using an older canon rebel xs

I just had someone give me a 5dMk2 - but now that I am learning about ML with it, I wonder about a 5dM3? Do you know how much better is the resolution or dynamic range or audio or FPS with ML on it? Lastly, can either of them do 30 FPS in RAW. I want to match it to R6Mk2 shooting in C-log. Thanks for any and all tips.🎉

Ive seen other videos where the menu is different, there is option tu select Bit depth and other resolution, do you know why? My menu looks like yours

The installation instructions on the ML website weren't clear about which files to copy (it just says "copy the ML files" so all of them or just the ones in the ML folder??), so this was very helpful, thanks!

I found what I think is a better alternative. I decided to try using my Galaxy S23 as a monitor for both my Canon 5DSR and Canon R6. So, after watching several videos about the process, I bought an HDMI capture card and the HDMI cables for each camera (one mini and one micro). Then I started the process of finding an app for my phone. I found and tried about eight of them. None of the apps recommended in the videos I watched worked on either camera. I found other apps, but none that worked on both or worked well on both. Also, a few enabled touch screen control, but others didn't. I found an app for each of the cameras, but neither was entirely satisfactory. Then I discovered RupiApps "Camera Connect and Control". When trying it out, I first discovered there was no HDMI functionality, but then I noticed there was a "connect with USB" option as well. I did a little more research on their apps and discovered they had a paired down "Camera Pro Control" version. "Connect and Control" provides additional functions -- such as recording camera operations on your phone -- that "Camera Pro Control" doesn't; it only provides the camera monitor and control functions via both WiFi and USB connectivity. After trying out the free three-day trial for "Connect and Control", I purchased the "Pro Control" app as this is all I need for now. It works perfectly on both cameras and only requires a USB cable for camera direct-to-phone connectivity, and WiFi works flawlessly on the R6 (5DSR doesn't have WiFi). Also, when connected to the 5DSR I have touchscreen functionality for settings that I don't have on the camera itself. Maybe you could test it yourself and do a video on it if you think it's a worthwhile alternative.

I'm going to try this for sure I've started to get back into photography and for the first time long exposure shots I'm still practicing them but good fun this will help a lot to see if it's all in focus and not expensive. I'll let you know how it goes if there in stock I'll get one for Monday I've got loads of different cables at home so I can probably find what I need somewhere
