The TR six is the only real drivers car triumph ever made because it’s got enough grunt and because it looks so fabulous and that’s why you can’t get one for under like 20 K that’s worth owning😊

I think this review was perfectly done. Plus, you get the car. Not everybody does. I’ve owned some very modified Porsches don’t though they are a pleasure to drive there is something about the British sports cars that era, in which I was always a passenger or can I drive your car but never an owner, that is so elemental so stripped of unnecessary intermediary systems between you and the road, that puts a bigger smile on your face.

The MINI mock-up was noticed to not have an exhaust tip as it was about to be introduced to corporate brass, so someone stuck a soda can on it, and the rest is history.

I love my 2006 JCW MCS. I've fitted a Borla exhaust, aftermarket rear sway bar, 15 lb 16" wheels, BC coilovers, throttle response controller and a Craven Speed short shifter. I have to say, while not the fastest car I've ever owned, it has to be the most fun.

I had a 1970 white TR6. I put over 130K miles on it and loved it. It was surprisingly reliable except I had to rebuild the tranny twice. A big mistake I made was installing stiffer springs in the rear and that triggered recurring U-joint and wheel bearing problems. But it was a great car overall. Now that I'm much older, I think of safety and I wouldn't own a roadster without a roll bar. Thank you for bringing back many fond memories with your great video.

I wished they would make a mini that looked like a mini. They seem to make all the panels smooth and has lost alot of its character. This generation kept the curves on the bonnet

My friend had one of these. A 72 as it was a graduation present and that was our hs year. Great fun. Other guys had Cameros etc that were faster but this was more fun. Especially on a mountain road (we were Coloradans) there was nothing better. I'm 6'0" and fit in quite comfortably although it looks tiny - of course I weighed maybe 140 back then but still.

I got my 69 in 1972 and weighed 155 pounds at 6 foot, now have a 1976 and weigh 225 pounds and am 5’ 10 1/2 but I still fit, just a little bit tighter. Still having a ball.

Treat good passing on the next generation. I’m not ready to do that yet, I don’t know whether it’s gonna be my granddaughter or one of my grandsons, both of them have helped me restore my TR. Good luck and pass it on!

Interesting video! We have had our 6 for over 25 years and until fairly recently the fuel system was ok, only needing injectors clearing and a refurb to the metering unit. However, knowing we had 2 TRips accepts the Chanel this year, I decided to replace the 21 year old Bosch pump. I was unable to find an exact match and, on advice, replaced it with a Sytec 3044. There were initial positioning issues - down to me but eventually had it sorted - or so I thought! I had all the issues you described in the video. Eventually I mounted the pump in the wheel arch with a Facet low pressure feed pump with built in filter directly beneath the fuel tank. I have removed any obstruction like the fuel tap that had been on for 25 years and ensured all pipework was 12mm id for maximum flow. I have fitted a Sytec serviceable post filter with an 8mm replaceable filter. There have been no overheating issues that the various pumps I used this year suffered with. Do my recommendation is forget the fuel hungry 3044 pump - either Bosch or Sytec. I am now using a Sytec OTP 979 fed by the low pressure pump as described. Fueling is massively improved with startup and running much smoother due to the low pressure feed. Looking forward to the French and German meetings in May 2024.

I have the same car in white but not s line. I was one of the first people to drive a TT. I went to the factory in Bavaria c1998 I worked in advertising. I flew to Ireland to make some ads for the 5door A5 when that came out. I also put an A2 inside the London eye and drove the Quattro on a volcanic beach in Auckland. Happy days!

I had a 1971 TR6 from new, and kept it seven years. Only fuel problem in that time was a blocked injector - a simple swop. Never had cold starting problems, and the fuel system received zero servicing. It did get through three water pumps, the quality of which deteriorated at every exchange (from casting to pressing).

When I was 16 I got my 3rd car (rust made me sell the 914 and then the 912), a 1975 British Racing Green TR 6. It was a great little car despite the fact that it only ran on 5 cylinders, barely hit 65, smoked like crazy on start up, and had brakes that barely worked. Watching this video and hearing this engine takes me back to 1991.

Absolutely love the TR6, but in this day and age I would pull the head have it ported and put an after market EFI system on. Being from the US the carburetors are a little to fussy and never really saw the full performance that said my brother had his first TR6 back in the 70's and my dream is a deep Navy Blue with saddle interior and a crisp fall morning. 😊
