I'm looking at this in 2023 at this rate I would have to guess your still working on this project.

water in the cyl rusted the pistons to the cyl so the motor needs to come apart, the cyls honed out, rings freed, pistons sanded so they have new wear surface, new gaskets, oil oil oil everything and put it back together again. shoot oil in the plug hole and let it sit to free up pistons but then it will have rust in cyl so if u try to run it it will ruin the piston/cyl/rings on the rust so.... take it apart and get $20 cyl hone for the cyl of your size, piston size.

Yea how do u put the brushes back in the starter my brushes r good cap is good but can't get it back together
@BigRig0035 жыл бұрын
You need to use like some wire to hold the brushes in while you put the starter motor in (put the brushes in through the bottom of the cap so you can remove the wire when starter is together).

i wouldve responded earlier and i bet youve figgered it out. it was a 1986 craftsman with the cast iron 4_speed

This is not a V twin Briggs, It's a "opposing twin cylinder". If you don't know the difference between a V twin, opposed, or inline engine, you probably don't need to be giving advise and confusing people that are trying to learn how to D.I.Y.

i know it is not a vtwin. non the less it has twin cylinders. and yes its opposed. i was still new to the mower world, so please don't bash me. now i am more experienced and have a little more knowledge.

My mower doesnt even run right now......it crapped out on me again. I can't figure out why it wont freaking run. It surges and sputters. I'm sure it just needs a new carbeurator. But idk I'll have to see about it. GOod things is, I may have a job net week. I applied at Pizza Hut and they're gonna call me and set up an interview. If I get this job, i'll have money, and I can buy parts and stuff like that. I can't wait!! Most of all, I hope I even get the job. Also, I really really want to buy a project car to work on so I can fix it up. LIke, I want a car from the 50s, 60s, or 70s. We will have to wait though! Gosh im so excited about this interview
@BigRig0037 жыл бұрын
Southern Mechanics sounds like we you have an exciting week ahead of you. If you want something with some good looks and can haul some stuff, get a 2-door square body Chevy. Really nice looking trucks. The carburetor thing might not be the issue. Take a look at the governor before you do anything with the carb
@RANDOMMekhaniks7 жыл бұрын
Yeah i'll definitley buy an old Chevy truck. We need a truck in the family. They're pretty cheap around here, just an old work truck. I'm not worried about the looks of it. And ok i'll check the governor.....but what do I look for ?
@BigRig0037 жыл бұрын
Southern Mechanics loose governor spring, bent rods anything that looks like its out of place. Or right off the get go just unhook the governor and just see how she runs. If not I could be the carb. Just trying to save you some money maybe or just making shure you get the right parts

I am sorry to hear that man :( I would fix it up to original condition than, it will he a good project for you and a way to keep connected to your Grandfather!
@BigRig0037 жыл бұрын
HyperRide yeah. I plan on getting someone to paint on the back of my fenders to say (in memory of papa). its a good idea to keep it original but if I get something that is just going to not be used than I mine as well give it to someone else in the family, but I'd rather see it upgraded and in my hands than see it in someone else's hands. I would like to have the mower and in the future look at it a say, (this happened because of my grand father). its just something I don't want to see go to someone else and just sit and collect rust.

Sweet Video Love the Husqvarna ! you should paint it like the same colour scheme as the Husqvarna Dirt Bikes (White/Blue/Gold) check them out, if you did that to your tractor, that would look epic man! also, I would get a flat plate and mount a winch to it, that would make it look extra awesome! As for the intro, do a simple one for starters, I am working on a new logo and music, you will get one in time. The more video's you produce the better you'll get at them, so keep them coming! Oh, I love your Craftsman, that one is my fav by far! ;)

@HyperRidemx8 жыл бұрын
I dunno, you happy with the Craftsman? I think its a cool looking mower. If I get a second one, I think I will be looking for a Weedeater brand with the 12.5 I/C but until then I think I will mod up the Craftsman and see what I can do to make it better! I'd say keep it and come up with a plan and mod it up!
