That sucks!!! Sorry to hear it. I made the change this year. Too many people with too many issues on the Hawk Heliums. There are some people that have had good luck but I didn’t want to keep pushing my luck. So far I’m happy with the move to the Skeletors other than I wish I would have gone with a lighter weight solution. I may be investing in some Latitude Carbon sticks or the Tethrd One sticks. Like to get down to around a pound per stick.
@brianscustomcanvas1911

To make the amsteel tighter to the stick. Take the amsteel off stick. Find the loop, reach through the loop with 2 fingers to grab a bight of amsteel and pull through to make another loop. At that point the loop uou made by pulling a bite put that over the cleat and pull tight. Its more secure and doesn't move. Give it a try. " gurth hitch"

I've had the skeletons for 3 years now with 2 step aider. If you want a shorter step like I have short legs you can unbolt the lower steps and move them up in the many holes. They are great. Stack them, then take last amsteel line and wrap all the way around all sticks and tie off.
@BluePawWorkshop
@BluePawWorkshop Жыл бұрын
Went out with them today. They are nice. Trouble-free , easy to mount on the tree. A snap to stack and solid. I was a fan when I was practicing on the tree in my yard but am really a big fan now. Wish they were a bit lighter but they aren’t too bad. Interesting idea on shortening them. I don’t have the longest legs so a few inches off the bottom wouldn’t hurt that’s for sure. Thanks for the tip!

I use the hawk minis, but use a ropemod. The way I tie them off theres no need to switch from the button that comes with them. The minis stacking method was a little tough to pull apart until I trimmed the lip of the suction cup or female side using an xacto knife. I've been using the hawks quite alot for several years, and have found them to be plenty durable. Not sure I'd like the orange tabs where you have to line up 4 total pieces to get them to stay together. My hawks are usually stuck in the tree when I try to remove them too. Maybe if I ever need new sticks I'll check out the tethrd only for a few extra ounces and a slightly tighter stack height. Thanks for the review.
@BluePawWorkshop
@BluePawWorkshop Жыл бұрын
Good deal. I know a lot of people love them and they do get a beat up on a lot. I think that’s because they are the cheap sticks and everyone thinks if their cheap, they must be bad. Makes them an easy target. That’s why I didn’t beat them up in the video. I don’t have a problem with mine, I just like the Skeletors better. Like I said, I’m keeping mine for that extra set. Honestly, I may set a couple of them up on trees that I hunt on a regular basis for my top two steps and just leave them. Would allow me to only carry two skeletors and cut my weight even more. Thanks for watching! Appreciate the feedback. 👍

Thanks for sharing Steven! After much debate, in 2022 l chose the same bow with a Green Beret riser and black limbs. It is a great bow to shoot, and checks all the boxes for me. I am 6'2 with a draw length of 31.5", so l can expect maximum velocity with my arrows. The hold at full draw on this bow is incredible! Also love the geometry of the cut-outs on the riser, the string angle, and the fit and finish is flawless. I commend you for giving Tracie a shout out. I texted her recently, and mentioned your YT video. She said she wasn't aware of it, so l sent her the link. I also commend you for sharing. I'm thinking of getting your color combo too, just for variety's sake. 😁

I couldn't agree more. I love the Athens brand. I love the bow itself, the customer service and the fact that they are a small business taking on the giants of the industry. I have had several conversations with them over phone and email and even a year after my purchase I still get the best customer service. Great people and a great company. As for the shout out, Tracie deserves it. She has been wonderful to work with before and after the purchase. I'm planning on getting the elevate after this season and am looking at the conifer color for it. However, I will say, the autumn blaze with the flat dark earth riser is a tough combo to beat. Thanks for watching the video and the comments. Its always appreciated and if it helps sell even just one more Athens, then it was worth making. Good luck this season if you are a hunter and stay safe. I would say shoot straight but you shoot an Athens so that's a given!

Thanks Steven! I do 3-D archery and target shooting at present, but I like the suitability of the bow for hunting. I too try to help promote their company. When I go to competition shoots, guys stare at my set-up and often want to know where I purchased my Vista 35! I tell them about AA, Tracie and Jim, and they take notes using their cell phone. I've also nudged local archery dealers to investigate calling AA and carrying their brand. Steven, I got started in archery back in 2015. I have also owned compound bows by Bowtech, Elite, and Bear. To date, the Vista 35 is the BEST I've ever shot. I've placed no lower than 2nd place in seven of my recent tournaments, and have won four using the Vista. I'll probably get your bow and eventually give my Green Beret Vista to my godson. I got him interested in archery, and he is a natural! I find archery to be a great sport to teach people to have discipline, focus, and patience. The reward comes with tight groupings at 40+ yards!
