Will it kill BB? I just set up a pristine 5g w/ black sand. so pretty. then, like an idiot, i took a big rock from another tank cuz yay bb, right? RARRRRR gdi i am so upset.

They have a photo of Caridina on top of the product, so technically it supposed to be ok, but still, the amount of product needed to kill MTS is a lot, and we all know how sensitive Caridina are, so I think it would be better to be safe and treat the tank and remove the shrimp to another tank if possible while treating. I've only done it with neos, but neos are way more hardy. Hope that helps.

@@princeouji8957 i havent stocked it yet. im still letting it have more time to stabilize, even though i'm pretty sure it's cycled. but i want to keep my sand black, and since i messed up, i am slowly seeing these damned things messing up my sand! but anyway, what i really wanted to know is if it kills beneficial bacteria. i could seed the tank from other tanks if it does, but i'm just wondering. im abuot to nuke this shit. sucks, cuz i wanted to eventually have a mystery snail in there, but oh well.
@princeouji895711 күн бұрын
@@trilliance I don't believe it will kill the beneficial bacteria. I've put tons of this stuff in my tanks, but then again, my fish are hardy and not sensitive. However, in my opinion, true cycling takes a year or more. And yes this stuff does linger in the tank for a long time, it really is a snail killer! So you won't be able to put any snails in there for a long time. About Caridina, I used to raise and had success with pinto, pandas, and Xtreme BB, for me, the most important thing are the water parameters (low TDS, more acidic than Alkaline, and cooler temperature that doesn't fluctuate). Once my substrate lost the buffering capability over time, the shrimp didn't breed anymore.
@trilliance11 күн бұрын
@@princeouji8957 i agree with you about cycling not happening for a long time. the filter i'm seeding it from is about 5 yrs old, but it's a small tank with a small filter, so it didn't cycle instantly. annnyway, found a big fat one today. i never saw him, then he's just there chillin like he's 30 years old. like, they're zombies. tonight is night 5 for the meds and i am od'ing for sure lol. eesh. weird about your shrimp stopping breeding. my only substrate is sand. i'll only be using distilled water. my water is good for neocardinia, because it's hard, but that's another thing i don't want in this tank: tons of hard water minerals all over everything. Im probably being over particular about this tank, but it's not like any other tank i've had and whatever. i'm high. :) thanks for the info!!
@princeouji895710 күн бұрын
@@trilliance The filter is good from a 5 year old tank, just the bacteria takes awhile because it goes everywhere in the tank (sides of the glass, substrate, filter etc) and that takes time. What kind of filter you have running? I do notice that with a filter running, it can soak up a lot of the powder. I remember that a tank I had, I would put the powder every single day and an extreme large amount and it took a long time for the MTS to die, much longer than my experiment. You can tell if it's having an effect if the MTS doesn't move and stays in it's shell. If it's moving around, then the powder has been absorbed somewhere else and it's not being effective and another strategy must be implemented. My water is hard also, so neos are perfect, but for my caridina, I also did the same, RO water and mineralize myself. That was the only way I had success. For me it was clear why they stopped breeding in my tank. The substrate lost it's PH lowering capacity and my ph ended up being too high for them to breed. and No problem, I hope you are able to get rid of the snails and have the tank you are happy with!

So I had bought some plants for my tank then I noticed a couple snails a couple weeks later there were literally thousands. You couldn’t even see parts of the tank because of them so I would put this fish food tablet at the bottom and they would converge on it after about a half hr and I I would scoop hundreds out at a time. I’m an American and I don’t think the world revolves around me. I know how to you the metric system. I know what a liter is. That’s racist thinking. Where you from India Pakistan???

How to unlock a lock without a key - just use a lock pick set, duh! Like everyone just has a lock pick kit laying around and the skill to use it. 🙄 If it came down to that, most people would just drill the lock and order new locks, because most people have a drill.

Weird, mine is horizontal and it’s locked. My control key won’t remove it, and it’s horizontal.
@princeouji89574 ай бұрын
I'm not really sure, could it be possible that it's just stuck? If both sides are like that then maybe it's a different model from a different year. But yeah, the control key won't unlock it, it only is used to take out the core. So you'd have to find a way to pick it to unlock it first. Sorry couldn't be of more help!

This dude uses Yakima Q-tower so lock orientation is different than yours! The Yakima Control Tower is locked if key slot is horizontal, and unlock is vertically
@naedragon8820 күн бұрын
In Australia, horizontal means locked for most things like that :)

Mine was just an old one my father had lying around. But you can get basic ones on Ebay, Aliexpress, Amazon, etc. cheapest would probably be Ebay.

Do you think I could make the hurdle taller (60inches or so) or would that not work?
@princeouji8957 Жыл бұрын
You could make it as tall as you want technically, but you would have to mess with the measurements, more PVC would be needed for the height (vertical poles) as well as the feet you'd want to make them longer as the taller it is, the more sturdy of a base you would need. Hope that helps

So you used a thule control key or just a regular thule key that went to another rack to remove the core
@princeouji89572 жыл бұрын
I used a regular Thule key that my father had, but the best way is to use a Yakima control key, which is an uncut key, that you can buy.

What part number key is that
@princeouji89572 жыл бұрын
When you unlock and remove the core, it will have an SKS keycode on the side of the lock. This keycode will have a letter followed by 3 numbers. This is the part number key. Write that down and buy from your local Yakima dealer or order online.
