So there’s actually a part 0 of this run before I had obs and I discovered the strat you see here. This is known as GBA or Gundyr Backstep Attack, the first step is to parry gundyr, next span the estus button while walking towards him, next mash r1 and you should get a parry while he’s getting up, immediately afterwards backstep and lock on, this will prevent a grab and a side strike, simply continue the cycle though only estus chug when necessary. At 75 percent gundyr will enter angy mode where you either need to backpedal or roll three times and stop, the pain train will come soon and you need to parry this (I’ve gotten very good at this), riposte and backstep however know there’s a new problem the punch, in about 1.25 seconds a wind up and punch occurs which requires three rolls to cover the full combos. This will break the loop which is compromising as 75% or so of his attacks are one shots at this stage, keep doing this 22 times without fail and you’ll be able to finish the first boss. Please note there is an invisible wall that prevents falling over the ledge and the doors with FF gundyrs are too enclosed so you must endure all of this. The class of choice this run was the thief though the assassin also works because of the parry shield however this will require 31 parries which is far from ideal.

Notes: While I am making significant progress in the run and my parry skills I’m still unable to handle ganks and close quarters my goal now is to either do AOA and access the ringed city for the rings and upgrade mats or press onto the catacombs for upgrade mats and CBV
