This is totally badass and hope to keep racing at this age. In the early 2000’s was hoping to meet up at one national but never got the chance. I recently competed at new castle and saw his name on display for vintage karting hall of fame. If you see this. There is still another Lapke racing at the national karting stage.

Raced against those a few times. They never got any where near me. All the weight of 2 karts in one frame.

I raced this class in the 1970s with modern sticky tires. 4.5 in wide rears and 3.0 wide fronts. we ran the engines on alcohol with Klotz oil for more power. We averaged 25 to 30 karts. 1st race fastest in front, 2nd race inverted, 3rd race inverted again. There sure was a lot of passing and a whole lot of fun. I raced this class 4 years with a Fox kart. Then I moved up to the MC101 class with a Margay kart.

It's so great to see these things racing the way they did back in the day - not just a demonstration. They are so much fun! I worked at Bug Engineering in San Diego in the early 60's, and raced a single MC-30, I think it was. I got to drive a twin a few times, and I loved that you could go around the corners at any angle you wanted. The last time I raced at Adams was with a KT-100, with way too low a gear ratio - but it was great on the start! I'll really sorry I missed this year's event - hopefully next year. I've got a vintage Bug I'm fixing up, and I could bring the sidewinder, too. Keep up the good work!

Great kart. I noticed the Yamaha badge on the steering wheel on the one I owned but didn't realize,at that time, it was an RC100. Set it up as a dirt slider for my two children (and their friends)to use on the infield of the speedway practice track at Lake Lefroy in Kambalda back in the 1990's.

I was so fortunate to drive one of these back in late 1974 ....we were sponsored by a local Trucking firm that the owner was thrilled with watching us race... Needless to say, one of our two karts won every weekend.. Asphalt two-cycle racing was a thrill for sure.. Our Blackhawks did not have the front wheel braking... but the engine, 8000 engage oil fluid clutch, full-circle shaft, nitro-methanol mixed with Klotz racing oil... it would lift the left front wheel when the expansion chamber would come "on pipe".... tied to a rocket ship for 10 to 15 minutes for a complete race.. sigh, to be young and foolish again..

Boss Man I’ve been on the hunt for a RS-2000!!!! Can you direct me to someone who may have frame or full cart for sale? I’m from the Bay Area where this kart was popular!!!! Your construction is flawless duel Tilly’s what’s that a 820 powerbee? So nice!!! My favorite part of the kart is the aluminum seat pan design!!!!! If you could direct me I’d be most appreciative. Good night
