Be careful there, dont travel alone, always stay in the city, and dont travel at night.

If you remembered taking the bag after they checked it, then you lost it while running along the way to the plane, either it fell from your cart or someone took it from your cart. Hopefully there are cctvs that could help with the investigation in case you get a lawyer. It is a big loss and we feel bad for you. As the only adult you are responsible to hold on to the most important bag so this is a hard lesson to learn to be more aware of the important stuff while traveling. . As travelers, we are always pressured and stressed in airports , transfers, check-in, short connections etc. One thing I do when traveling with kids or other adults is make an actual count of all our check in bags, all hand carry bags/purses/backpacks every time we transfer/check-in/ claim luggages/ taxi loading/unloading/ hotel checkin /chk out. Good luck in Goa and keep safe.
