Dave - if you had to do it over again, would you advise obtaining a PPL & training in a SR vs a Piper/Cessna?
@QuantumFlyАй бұрын
I started my Pilot Training on a Piper 160, then purchased a 180 and completed most of my training. I actually received my Pilot Certificate in my Cirrus SR20 (Plane #3). If you decide to start in a Cirrus, just remember that it is far easier to get behind the airplane in a Cirrus versus Piper or Cessna 170/150. The avionics matter too as you need to be comfortable there.

The Department of Energy, for instance, recently canceled two major purchases of oil for the US strategic Reserve, citing high prices. Biden released about 230 million barrels of oil from the reserve in 2022 and 2023, after Russia's invasion of Ukraine sent prices soaring and gasoline peaked at $5 per gallon. The DOE began slowly refilling the reserve last summer.

Thanks for sharing. This is also is a good demo of how tough the cockpit can be as a classroom where you cannot hit "pause" and think a process through before proceeding. Been there, done that.

Absolutely correct! Also, Cirrus airplanes are faster than most trainer planes, so easy to get behind the plane!

Epic needs G3000 vs G1000. Heard fuel flow is less than TBM and Softer landings, as well. How important pilot door?
@myvideo22286 ай бұрын
Epic is large so pilot door is not an issue. TBM needs a pilot door because unless your 4’ getting upfront is a gymnastics move.
@QuantumFly6 ай бұрын
I agree! You will notice that the other planes (M2 and Fury) have upgraded avionics.
@QuantumFly6 ай бұрын
@@myvideo2228 Yes, epic is fairly sizeable and comfortable inside. Vern is certified to train on it too! I think they have a great plane. The others simply have the history.
@myvideo22286 ай бұрын
Epic interior is way larger than a TBM. Sits higher, not subject to FOD issues or prop strikes. Ops cost and fuel burn are less than the TBM as well.
@QuantumFly6 ай бұрын
As someone who has been a passenger in the TBM I agree! I am 6’1” and I could not get comfortable without stretching my legs into the other seat! I would choose the Epic over the TBM.
@vernonvancleve43166 ай бұрын
Most of the large PT6 engine series are burning fuel at 60 gallons an hour for an average. When you cross 30,000 feet the fuel burns come down to around 40 gallons an hour. The Epic flies slightly higher, so that is slightly less fuel flow than the TBM. Less dense air equals less fuel demand…

American Presidents control gas prices?

No, but they control the companies that control gas prices through drilling leases, taxes and other various laws. They also choose which countries to do business with. Ever heard of Venezuela, Russia, Iran? Gas was CHEAPER under Trump! Deal with it!

Somehow we are at a 3% inflation rate and gasoline prices, adjusted for inflation, are no more than you'd pay a hundred years ago.

I guess we will choose to disagree if you are just going to make up fake stories! We were never above 2% inflation with Trump in 4 years, then Joe got elected, cancelled all the Trump policies and the world went to shit. I guess that is the Orange Man's fault, but let's let the voters decide.
