People want everything handed to them nowadays. Is UFC suppose to pump money into a place because one guy came out of their. I bet he didn’t put any money towards it.
@Thforklift126 Жыл бұрын
Well, that you went ahead and compared the UFC, a for-profit entity worth billions, to USA Wrestling, a non-profit national governing body under the auspices of the US Olympic Committee, shows that you really aren't educated on the subject matter. No worries, I'll help you out. USA Wrestling has at its disposal the money and resources to fully invest in this nation's Greco-Roman program and thus improve athlete retention and training. But even though they have it, they do not invest said resources, choosing instead to pocket the rest and spend it on other, less important issues. That's #1, in a nutshell. #2, the athlete in the video, during his career (which is now over, actually) averaged around five months of living overseas each of the past five years in order to train with the best wrestlers in the sport. So to say that he did not put money or effort or attitude into the cause is, of course, laughably incorrect. But you didn't know all that and went ahead to comment anyway. Solid work!

@Thforklift126: It’s the point tho that they shouldn’t be forced to give anyone money. With the money he makes he could open a gym and teach them himself.

Nice! While teaching Islamic Studies and Arabic in Wales, our institute director, a historian and Arabist, was also an Iraqi wrestler back in the day, and this gentleman reminds me of him. The institute was in the middle of nowhere, and he had built a gym there! He was a father figure to us all, far more than just an academic.

I mean come on the USA's greco roman wrestling did such a piss poor performance every single time there's absolutely no reason for the US to be lacking in GR wrestling
@Thforklift1262 жыл бұрын
What do you mean by your statement exactly? Because if you watched the video, it should be pretty clear why the US struggles in Greco, and it is not due to experiencing a dearth of capable, devoted athletes.
