Tak piękna i staranna praca, że tylko podziwiać. Całość popsuła obrzydliwa wręcz tkanina obiciowa. Kto widział stylowe meble pokryte taką pacykowaną chamską szmatą?! Skąd ten pomysł? I ta taśma wykończeniowa - porażka. Czy rzeczywiście nie można było zrobić renowacji i przywrócić temu fotelowi jego oryginalny historyczny wygląd? Po co poprawiać i udziwniać to, co było w oryginale doskonałe?

What a fantastic job, great tutorial. Never seeing a true restoration that involves upholstery. Saving it and following you! Thank you for sharing this. Many years ago I decided to reupholster my only sofa. It was a do or die proyect as I had never done this before 😅 In a very methodical way I undid half of the sofa first as I took notes and drafted what I was seeing. Then undid the other half. Used the removed pieces of fabric as template to cut the new fabric. Bought the upholstery needles and thread, which are super helpful for other projects too. It works! Highly recommend to give it try. Maybe start with a smaller project. 👍🙋🏼♀️💕

That's really impressive, a whole sofa! It's such a fun way learning by doing. And I experienced the same by discovering those rounded needles, they come in very handy by other projects. Thank you for watching and your compliments!

I can't wait to see more videos. Will be very helpful to know where do u buy your work materials. I want that fabric, please tell me where did you buy it ❤😊.

I found the fabric on an auction website (Catawiki), it’s gobelin fabric from Italy. And work materials are from a small upholstery store in Brussels. There is a good chance that a local upholster in your area also sells work material. Online you can find them under "upholtery supplies webshop" or something like that :-).

Thank you! In French the fiber is called 'crin vegetal' and it's mostly made from African dwarf palm. The leaves of this plant are cut and curled, which gives them resilience, which is retained for a long time in dried form. The dark brown filling is coconut fibre. Foam is much easier to work with and is commonly used here in Europe as well. This natural fiber is a bit more sustainable and durable.

There are different density foams now ,which, when sandwiched together properly, will give a similar effect. Not quite 100 yrs but certainly 30+ years. Alot quicker nd cheaper.
