Hi, these are actually the mid level models. Theres an entry level, a standard (the one you have) and a pro-level. I'm surprised you didn't demo the 2 and 4 positions as this is a 5 position switch like a Strat, even though there's only 2 pickups, it does an out of phase quack in those...

To my ears the Custom Shop is miles above. It's like it has a built-in compressor that smooths everything out, makes your playing sound more legato compared to the other guitar, and it has a lot of body and character. Nothing wrong with the gold strat, it's just like a good wine vs a special bottle of a prized grand cru classé.
@markhopkinsmusic9 күн бұрын
Totally! The CS is definitely a lighter guitar too and it rings like a bell unplugged
@vincentc.47229 күн бұрын
I prefer your Fender. I had a similar experience. In December 2023 I bought a Fender Artist Series Jeff Beck strat (NOT custom shop). I love it and it has become my favourite guitar, except that it lacks sustain terribly at some frets (typically fret XIV, string 3). I was disappointed about that, plus some minor tech issues, and phoned the store and was even considering swapping it for a Suhr Classic S in s s s config. So I went back to the store, checked in my strat for a setup, also to get the trem adjusted softer and a faulty saddle replaced (lowers itself for no good reason), and tried the Suhr and oh surprise, the sustain at the same fret was slightly worse on the Suhr than on my Fender even though the Suhr costs a grand more. Another example of the JB strat had similar sustain to mine. I guess as a regular Ibanez player I am used to very luxurious almost endless sustain all over the neck. The Ibanez are also better made, they don't have saddles that change height just from string tension and Ibanez trems are marvels of engineering but still... these days the tone of the strat is my thing. I also prefer the neck on the Fender. The Suhr neck feels closer to the neck on my Ibanez JS1200 (which is not a typical Ibanez neck, it's thicker than Ibanez shredder necks. That said, I tend to prefer the neck that I played the most recently as I get attuned ot its feel but I think the Fender feels slightly better for me. I say keep your strat man. It's good to have several guitars to choose from, to suit different tracks and situations. The sentimental value counts for something too.

Great demo! How would you compare this to the two rock studio signature? Would you be happy with just the SSS as your main amp or is it too much of the “clean lead tones” thing? Do their sounds overlap much? I’m thinking of purchasing either.
@markhopkinsmusic10 күн бұрын
I'd compare this to more of the Two Rock Custom Reverb for cleans - but the second channel on this is pretty killer! If you're leaning more towards TR and want a two channel amp, check out the Bloomfield Drive. I ended up buying that and love it! But this amp is pure bliss too!
@Stboser10 күн бұрын
I haven’t heard the classic reverb comparison from anybody else but that’s really good to know. I’m really looking for something that’s primarily a clean platform, I don’t think I’d use the second channel much on any 2 channel amp.

Always place your highest gain pedals first in your signal chain. that enables you to boost those with the lighter gain pedals without oversaturating the signal. It's magic when it hits right!

Just received this pedal and it is great! But I had a problem at first. I was trying the pedal through my board and several other pedals, without any noise coming from the UAFX Orion. My power supply is a t-rex fuel tank junior.. But after i didn't had any sound coming from the UAFX I switched the power supply with a Palmer Pwt 08, and first then the pedal worked.. So I'm confused and curious? Does the t-rex not have enough power to handle the UAFX, or what could be the problem?
@markhopkinsmusic28 күн бұрын
@@theSonicboom100 power supplies make a big difference. I’d check how many miliamps the power supply can handle because modern pedals tend to pull more. I love the Truetone One Spot power supplies. I have the 7 port one and it’s very powerful.
