Dave Ellefson is a class act and the riffmeister for coming up with that iconic Peace Sells intro riff

This guy has got killer tone even at home, just like the recordings and gigs . Clear , punchy and pleasantly scooped in the midrange.

I got a near perfect cover of the conjuring up but I wish i'd have seen this video before I worked on it. The slide he does it not very evident in the isolated bass track and I missed it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKTSaoyGbNOGoZI

So rather than it being a choice, he uses a pick because he can't play very well with fingers. >not implying that makes him a worse bass player or musician. Although... 1:40 basically means he just plays from muscular memory, but can't adapt a riff to a different tempo. I mean, shouldn't musicians be able to do that?

?????? if a musician plays music that other people enjoy, he is a successful musician. There is literally nothing else that matters.

How ironic, yet still peculiar. On the one hand, most - I'm sure, can only be truly perplexed at the 'confidence', not only coming from the accomplished standpoint of success which you sit, but I still see a master fisherman as well. Yes, some of us do have eyes to see.. and the 'matrix' within my brain / existence says it isn't just 'self-destruction by oblivious over-confidence', but seems more like fishing instead. Maybe I'm wrong. Regardless, whether by intention or perhaps unintended, veiled genius.. still brilliant how you tap into it, intentionally or otherwise. Not like you don't have the fodder anyhow, so something must be guiding you. Quite intriguing ! Hopefully your next choice is even more ingenious. Use it to your benefit? BvP
